“You know I’m gonna be stubborn about it,” But he smiled at her, thankful for her gesture. It always felt nice to have Gwen give a damn about him. “And I don’t think your dad will like it to find Spider-Man sleeping next to your bed.”

Gwen waved it off, ‘He’ll knock and ask before opening the door,” And that was if her spider-sense didn’t alert him about him first,. “And I’d feel so much better if you stayed here for a little while and rested. At least that way I know you are resting,” She knew there wasn’t much she could do to force Peter to take better care of himself once he left. Besides, she wanted to spend time with him. That wasn’t a crime.

Wait, hold on a second. This is about Spider-Man? [She sighed relieved] Okay… maybe I kinda know him.

How did that happen?

He saved my life once. I don’t know if that counts, but did exchange a few words.

Sounded like she wouldn’t have to worry about faking her death, after all. Air left her lips in a heavy exhalation as she buried herself in the armchair, feeling completely defeated, “So you’re saying finding my universe is nearly impossible,” She concluded, and it made sense. This was still science, and magic had to be reigned by some sort of logic, right? Stephen couldn’t just wave his hand and open a portal to her universe. It didn’t work like that.

“I’d rather think is just very, very, very diffucult.” Stephen wasn’t exectly the most carsmatic person to deliver bad news. In fact that was one of the most common complains about his work when was in residency in the hospital. “But it’s still possible. It only take hard work.”

With a wave of his hand he closed the book, and it flew back to its place on the book stand under the window. Doctor Strange rushed to the nearest pen and paper he could find. He walked to the back of the armchair where Spider Woman was sitting, where a small desk was hidden underneath piles and piles of books. He cleaned the place and put his news tools over it.

“Lucky for you, I’m a very hard working person.” he smiled looking at her and then at the blank paper in front of him. He didn’t dare to take the pen to write. He would just mess things up if he did. Magic would do better. “We will trace nearby dimensions, check for patterns, until you find the one it’s yours.”

It surprised her that Stephen still seemed to hold out some hope. Could he really find her universe without any real frame of reference? He seemed to know more about trans-dimensional travel and multiple universes theory than she did, but the chances were slim and she knew it.

She watched him perform his magic, as if he had come out out of a fairy tale book, just waving his hands around and making things float as if it were as easy as breathing. She followed him with her eyes and watched him walk past her armchair. She sat on her knees on the chair and turned around, peeking from the back of the armchair. What was he doing?

She lifted her arm and shot some web to the ceiling. She shot herself up and then lowered herself down to Stephen’s level, upside down and holding herself in place with her feet together, “Wait, what exactly are you going to do with that paper?”

Gwen sighed with relief, and she couldn’t hold in a giggle, “So you didn’t snap anything. You just took pictures,” She shook her head, “At least you got something good out of this whole thing. But don’t make it a habit. And please, just… ignore Tony, yeah? He’s not a bad guy, but he’s the way he is and sometimes it’s good to call him out, and other times… just better to walk away.”

“I know he’s not a bad guy, I know,” If Stark weren’t good, despite all his flaws, Peter wouldn’t idolize him (and probably Magoo wouldn’t be dating the guy either). “And hey, it wasn’t my plan that the Vulture got an update and decided to take me for a test drive.”

“I know you know he’s not, but I don’t think you’ll get excited talking about him for a little while,” Gwen said, laughing. She caressed his bruised cheek again, very gently. She observed him carefully, concerned, “You need to rest... Can you do that or are you going to be stubborn about it as well?

As far as you told me, all I can tell is that you’re not from other Realm, which is good considering that easier to travel between parallel universes rather than totally different dimensions, however, I have no idea where your original reality is, and there are thousands we would have to look at. Doctor Strange wearily sighed as he leaned back on the armchair facing the book, filliping the pages with a wave of his right hand with a hopeless expression.

I’m not that dumb, y'know?” He ran a Spider-Man fan account on instagram, that was true, but he uploaded the pics using a coded vpn on his phone so no one could track them down to Peter Parker in Queens, NY. He wouldn’t even upload them to a cloud server, just in case. He was lucky enough his broken phone’s camera was still functional, to be quite honest.
