I’m in love with this 80′s Famicom covers -- Here’s Herakles no Eikou Toujin Makyou Den (first of the long running Herakles series, I think the DS one is the only one to get a global release)

Silent Hill 2
This is not going to be a coherent thing - more a bunch of thoughts -- make of them what you will.
So despite the shit job that Konami & HiJinks Studio did on the HD remastered Silent Hill 2 & 3, they have at least allowed it to continue on in digital form - at the moment, running through it on Playstation Now. Despite it’s many many foibles, they can’t ruin the underlying game and Silent Hill 2 still shines.
Apartment complex still freaks me out -- they definitely tease out the items and mechanics in this one, have to say I am still a fan though it does have a slow build.
Hospital level is where I am finally getting used to the flow of the game -- I used to play the Silent Hill games back in the day, there is definitely a flow to them that once you tap into then you can get into it.
2D controls are the only way to play. James is moving smooth. The camera is still a little iffy but it’s early PS2 so what do you expect.
New voice acting is well done but something is off. Can’t put my finger on it -- does everything Eddie have to say be followed by vomiting or pizza eating sounds?
A proper remake like Shadow of the Colossus or even Resident Evil 2 (though that might be too far) would be great, help bring out the details and everything.
The sexual assault scenes from Pyramid Head are still shocking -- though lessened due to the “remaster’s” tendencies to have weird collusion issues in the cinema scenes and combat. Amazing that they were able to sneak such mature content in a game -- Konami in 2001 didn’t give a fuck or Team Silent were able to sneak it by everybody (I would go for the second one).
Say what you will about Playstation Now, the streaming might get a little choppy but it totally does the aesthetic of the game wonders at times. Others I am reminded of how much of a looker this game was back in the day -- almost makes me want to hunt down an original.

cigarettes
she smells like yellow death, fingers sticky
the old house smelled of her, kool menthols, cat piss, and slow tuned dying dreams
what we had was love - close to true love if not the real thing --
paper thin like everything in this world, not quite ready for digital
posters turned yellow and tar
to this day i can’t stand the smell of cigarettes, even if i am smoking one standing on a balcony trying to impress some girl or drunk at a bar and fumbling
sometimes our kisses would be cold, i was too self absorbed to realize when it happened, a day before she left i was bragging that everything was perfect, couldn’t read the reaction of my own freak out
at least i played into her hand -- she got her hard won freedom, i got to be a piece of shit ---

Poisoned?
Vomited early -- I hate throwing up -- low energy, head all weird, weak limbed, doing better though, made it through supper, listened to a Jimmy Cliff soundtrack (how had I never heard this before - it is like every classic reggae tune ever, I was singing along because I knew every song even though I had never head it before - love when that happens). watching Batman (the Tim Burton one), about to curl up on the couch with the blanket and some pillows and watch the movie play out but wanted to write some. Read some Lord of the Rings on the balcony, greatness. Trying to make it -- doing it slowly but surely, just can’t falter
