We’re in really weird times right now, with everything sort of on pause. It’s hard to plan for anything and there’s little assurance of how long these dismal times will last. As a result, I’ve been trying to refocus my mind on the things I am certain about.

I really enjoy taking a break and letting my mind wander through sketching random organic shapes. I feel like there’s a lot of freedom with doing so, for there’s no “right” way for the shapes to turn out. It’s a lot of fun figuring out how to wrap the shapes around each other in interesting ways.

Had a lot of fun sketching these. Since a lot of the shapes are organic, I liked flipping them around and seeing what they looked like from different angles.

It’s been a little bit more than a month, since coming back from a trip to South Korea. I was so inspired by my time there, especially by the mountains, which I felt were so different from the ones here in the US. Here are a few sketches based on what I saw and felt.
