I like to think that the Baron has a very complex system for deciding what rings to wear, depending on who he's hanging out with, where, on what day etc.

I think it's a really powerful narrative choice to make Gurathin a former addict because David Dastmalchian is a former addict, has written about, made art about it, advocates for mental health and treatment.

There is always a level of fidelity that comes from casting people who have intimate, personal experience.

he’s not even essential to the plot. if you’re not going to do anything weird or fun with him just replace him with a rubber duck. but if you’re going to the trouble of casting someone in the role, for the love of god, let him chew the scenery? give him some dreadful b-movie laboratory. show him doing every drug. dress him in a shimmering doublet set with what at first look like jewels or gold studs but are then revealed to be whole human fingernails, gilded and sewn to the fabric. file his teeth to points!!!! make him wretched!!!! that’s what he’s there for!!!! what do you not understand!!!!

...i had never really looked into the ages of dune characters before, but how on earth is rabban older than fenring and leto??? i always had the sense that the baron was older than leto, sure, but i thought fenring must've been about the same age as the emperor and rabban was perhaps 15-20 years older than feyd-rautha, not 40.

Sometimes I think Piter is Toy Poodle because of his elegant dark curly hair and meager height. Also poodles are clever and used to hunt, similar to his expert killing skills.
