Extremely niche intersection of my interests, but listening to the lossless version of Secret Comes Out through a DAC amp and headphones with an intimate soundscape and good instrument separation makes me feel like my spine is going to shoot out of my body.
I agree with some people that the vocals sound a bit flat and pushed behind the instruments. Interestingy the ensemble sounds clearer in places. I hope they keep tweaking the levels for the vocals (Ali has such great texture on this track and he could benefit from more clear separation), but otherwise I think it's super well mastered and I'm pumped for the rest.
Meanwhile my intersection of interests is me trying to figure out what model of wooden rollercoaster is featured in the musical.
The wooden coaster on the Santa Cruz boardwalk which obviously is a massive inspo for Santa Carla is called The Great Dipper. Itās been around since 1924, before most modern coaster manufacturers really even existed. At the time it was more common for small parks like the Santa Cruz boardwalk to just kind of wing it when it came to manufacturing rides, especially wooden coasters.
The Great Dipper was an exception to thisāit was built by a company called D.H. Morgan, What I find utterly FASCINATING about the Great Dipperās manufacturer is that they basically didnāt build anything else for DECADES and then constucted one of the biggest roller coasters in Asia: Steel Dragon 2000. Previously the longest roller coaster in the world
