I don't shoot enough for it to make sense to develop at home. (also developing color kinda scares me)

How important are the limitations of one’s equipment when considering the “camera vs photographer” question?

that's an interesting question! I think they both have their share of influence. there's so many choices in gear available now that allows you to seek out different kinds of limitations to intentionally alter your process. it reminds me a lot of the relationship in wine that exists between the winemaker and terroir--where the grapes come from and how they grow are just as important as the person in the cellar making all the choices between harvest and bottling.
