No ^^
Imagine if Sargelaw died instead of ace then it'd be a happy ending!!! ^_^
...?
You have a skewed perception of a happy ending. Even if he defected in the end, he was still an officer of LAW.
Besides. Nobody deserves to die. Even if there were sacrifices made and casualties, they don't deserve death. Only people who truly are criminals should suffer such a thing.
The truth of Sera's failure echoes back in flashes: the bloodstained sword slipping from his trembling hands the day before, clattering against the concrete. Each drop of ichor splattering onto the ground like a broken promise.
The flames grow wilder with each surgeâburning hotter, brighterâtwisting into jagged tongues of fire that lash out furiously, clawing at the sky as if seeking to tear through the darkness above.
Below, the warehouse is crumbling down.
It groans and shudders, every wall and beam buckling under the unbearable heat. The fire devours it all with insatiable hunger, tearing through the buildingâs bones, peeling away its skin in sheets of molten iron. Steel beams glow a furious red, bending and twisting, liquefying into streams of metal that drip onto the ground.

soooo....Um Lettuce what happens now?
what's your new plan?
(hi anon ⥠for the sake of continuity this lettyk portrayal will be stuck in the episodes where law was still real <- also due to mod alter's memories #system... thank you!)

?
Lettuce do you still like snow?
Asking because um I can bring ya some if you want?
^^; âŠ
Iâm not sure who this is from. But I do like snow, yes. Iâm sure if you bring some, Loppezz will appreciate it, too. Maybe if I can get in contact with Arcn againâŠ
*Anon leaves arrows of harming at Lettuce's doorstep...*
*And a note that read... "You know what to do, since Theo looooves these so much :)"*
( ... )
( Does he? Lettuce rips up the note with his claws, and passes the arrows to a Law member. It'll be properly stored. )
( And used. )
The familiar horn blew outside of Capital City, Aces ears ringing a bit at it. He parked the horses and camel just outside of the gates, gabbing Wemmbu and pulling her off, a tiny bit gentler this time. Ace felt Wemmbus arm was slightly bloody, taking note of it but not saying anything
The cavelry walked into the mostly empty city and up to Lettuces headquarters, armor clanking - @ace-of-law
(...)
The smoke slithers through the air like a living thingâwrithing and twisting with a mind of its own. It coils upward in heavy, suffocating spirals, stark against the molten glow of flames leaping hungrily toward the heavens.
Something has been set on fire. Something has been burning. Something has been put out.
Lettuce looms through the haze, a towering silhouette against the furious smoke. He moves with slow, deliberate stepsâeach one heavy and purposeful, like the relentless beat of a war drum. He doesnât flinch when he sees Wemmbu, not even a flicker of hesitation in his stride.
His presence alone is a storm of fury wrapped in the guise of a man, his eyes hard and unyielding as they lock onto Ace.
Thereâs no mercy in that gazeâonly the seething wrath of a leader betrayed.
"Ace," Lettuce says, slow. Almost dangerous. "Didn't I tell you to kill him?"
(...)
Ah. So in the end, he wasn't grateful for his deputy's choice to go against his orders. No matter how correct he may be.
"Do you take me for a fool?"
Ace cowered slightly, Lettuces sharp green eyes almost burning a hole through him. He looked to his sides, seeing the other armored players physically backing away from the leader
Lettuce I- I know I went against orders, and I am sorry for that, Ill make it up to you. But look!
Ace shoved the barely conscious Wemmbu in front of Lettuce, her falling to her knees with a dull crunch. She looked... strangely beautiful in the moment
And we know where Flame is. Hes currently fighting off our men, weakness and slowness potions as requested [ @cruciible ]
< Wemmbu sputtered up blood, even more dripping down onto the floor where her left palm was at, trying to stabilize her body and keep it held upright, even if she was curling in on herself. She just got manhandled by the LAW and she wasn't even sure if Flame was alright or not. He probably was, she guessedâ Flame is incredibly strong on his own anyway. He didn't need assistance.. >
< She heaved out breaths, struggling a bit to breathe, unable to even speak as she felt blood in her mouth and throat. Everything was spinning, blurry, and she was extremely disoriented. She was bound to pass out any moment now. >
Lettuce doesnât even look at her as he shoves her down to the side, instead deciding to focus on his beloved deputy. âI took you in,â Lettuce says, his voice slicing through the crackle and hiss of the fire. Thereâs no warmth in his words, only a cold, bitter edge. âI gave you safety, a purpose... I trusted in your loyalty. And this⊠This is how you repay me?â
He stops inches from Ace, towering over him, his presence suffocatingâbreath hot and ragged as he leans down. He grabs Aceâs collar with a rough hand, yanking him up just enough for their eyes to meet.
Lettuceâs gaze is searching, desperate, looking for a hint of the loyalty he once believed unbreakable. His eyes, flickering with a mix of rage and twisted satisfaction, bore into his deputyâs with unrelenting intensity. âI told you to kill him. Now, are you going to stand here and say you were right to disobey me? Are you going to tell me you think you did the right thing? Speak up, deputy.â
(@ace-of-law)
He watch Lettuce push Wemmbu to the side, her almost falling over, and bowed his head down. He had to fight the urge to go over and help her back up, any sudden movements in front of Lettuce, especially about Wemmbu was lunatic behavior
Sir I--
Ace gasped slightly at being picked up like he weighed nothing, grabbing Lettuces wrist to make sure he didnt start choking him out
No... no I wasnt right to disobey you...! But sir! Killing Wemmbu isnt right! Itd be a fatal flaw in a flawless plan! Using her for- for the election was your idea and I still think its brilliant! Why can you see that!?
The awkward angle Ace was being held at made it hard to speak, not constricting his neck but still making him struggle to breathe. He looked behind him, the other soldiers long gone. Him, Wemmbu and Lettuce were alone in his office [ @cruciible ]
< Wemmbu was slipping out of consciousness. Everything was a blur. She could barely hear anything anymore except for the muffled exchange around her. Her eyelids felt heavy. She felt.. at peace, almost. She felt nothing, couldn't hear anything clearly, her vision blurring every flicker of light, brightness of everything felt amplified and larger. She... She couldn't.. â >
< And that's where her body gave up on trying to stay conscious. A break. Even if it wasn't on her own accord. >
( @absolvance )
âI made it very clear that I wanted him dead,â he says, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper againâsofter now, almost pleading. âWhy did you do it, Ace?â
Lettuceâs voice cracks for just a split secondâa brief, unguarded moment that reveals the fractures beneath his ironclad facade. But the slip is fleeting, and his anger floods back inâa tidal wave of bitterness that drowns out any trace of vulnerability. His lips twist into a vicious sneer as he spits out, âYou couldnât bear killing him, don't you?â
Before Ace can blink, Lettuce lunges, his hand latching onto his throat with a brutal, vice-like grip.
The force slams him, back against the cold steel of the wall, the impact reverberating through his battered frame like a violent shockwave.
Slowly, methodically, Lettuce hauls him up by the neck, dragging him from the ground against the wall, inch by inch. The rough metal scrapes against Aceâs back, and itâs not like it hurts yet; but itâs like fighting a machineâunyielding, merciless, unstoppable. And then he squeezes.
The pain is immediate.
Excruciating.
Sheer, unfiltered terror.
And then nothing. Lettuce releases him faster than he choked Ace, watching him fall helplessly against the wall, next to Wemmbu. âCatch your breath,â he orders. âDonât think for a moment that I would kill you in this way, my deputy.â
( @ace-of-law )
Ace attempted to reply to Lettuce accusations, tried to muster a No! or I can explain!. Tears pricked at his eyes as he was slammed into the wall, his armor making an awful scarping noise against the cold iron. But right before the adrenaline settled in for Ace, Lettuce let him go. The deputy fell to the floor, sputtering and coughing, rubbing his neck
All Ace could do is look up at Lettuce, a pot of emotions running through him. Fear, trust, loyalty, sadness, anger. It was all too much to process in the moment. He got up from the floor, holding back tears as he looked at Wemmbus unconscious body
W-what do we do with her?
( @absolvance )
Lettuce's face is emotionless, his expression carved in stone as his gaze meets Ace's.
Thereâs no triumph, no satisfaction in his eyesâonly a cold, simmering disdain that cuts deeper than any wound.
He looks at Wemmbu, then back at Ace, and for a moment, itâs as if heâs weighing something, some final judgement passed in silence.
Lettuce shatters a potion full of regeneration onto the wall behind Wemmbu, watching as the glass breaks and splinters, the liquid trickling down onto her. Enough to make her conscious again, at the least.
"Get me Turtle Master potions," he says, his voice a low, dangerous murmur. "And crawl back here once you're done. Can you follow simple orders this time, my deputy? Or is that too hard?"
( @ace-of-law )
All Ace could do is nod. Saying anything would surely be a mistake. He needed to get back on Lettuces good side. Do as he says, follow orders â even if it goes against his morals, he needs to shove those morals deep down and do it. He sprints to a storage room full of potions, a couple lawmen congregating around a brewing machine, seemingly playing with it
Get back to work.
Ace didnt mean to sound so commanding. He watched the gaggle of lawmen run in different directions in a panic from Aces demand. The situation before didnt get to him... did it?
He grabbed half an inventories worth of Turtle Master, walking back to the room he left Wemmbu in with a very merciless Lettuce [ @cruciible ]
< Wemmbu gasped as she regained consciousness, body shaking from all her body was putting her through. She felt like she was choking on air with every attempt of a breath, a privilege she wasn't deserving of. She cursed internally. This was worse than being killed. >
< She didn't hear much as she regained consciousness, other than a mention of Turtle Master pots. She knew what was bound to happen, or at least that's the best option she had aside from being killed right here and now. She'd make it out alive. After she endures all of this. She hopes she can. >
( @absolvance )
Lettuce hoists her up, taking a bottle from Ace and forcing the contents down her throat. It's cruel how he makes it so... gentle, maybe, coaxing her esophagus to spasm around the thick potion, making Wemmbu swallow every drop.
And then he slams her down against the ground.
The force of the impact ripples through her like a lightning strike. The jagged edges of shattered concrete and metal tear brutally at her. Lettuce's grip holds her firmâthe blow echoes in her skull, a bone-shattering thud that rattles her teeth and sends a shock wave of pain coursing through his entire body.
"Ace," he says, deceptively calm, turning his head away from Wemmbu. Resistance V might make her harder to kill but the pain is there and long lasting.
"Come on, don't be shy. Prove your worth to me. Attack him like you want to kill him. Or, are you insistent on being useless to me?"
