happy birthday to my favorite artist of all time, david byrne!
forever annoyed by the fact that a) stardew valley doesnt let you be nonbinary and b) nobody else seems to have a problem with it
like perhaps. nonbinary people. deserve to not have to be misgendered. idk maybe this is a crazy concept it might be too much to ask
so ive been looking a bit into this and i cant find any specific statements from concernedape on the topic, but i keep seeing the alleged statement that stardew gender system essentially runs on a boolean, and adding another option would require overhauling the code. to which i say, yeah, it would. but not to THAT great of an extent. stardew is a big game, sure, but theres not a crazy amount of things impacted by the players gender.
it would require changing one system and rewriting a decent amount of code code to accomodate that new system, as well as writing some new dialogue to be more gender neutral. which is, despite what many stardew fans want you to believe, not an absurd ask. its probably annoying to change, but its not as big of a task as, say, adding an entire new marriage candidate? like hes doing for two characters in the next update? its a fraction of the workload most of the updates stardew gets requires, with nearly no creative work required either. its just tedious, and like, programming in general is tedious. its not an insane ask. stop acting like it is
The thing that really gets me is the bath house locker rooms. I usually just pretend away the lines with pronouns in my head (I’m not really interested in interacting with anyone but Krobus anyway) and forget which gender I’ve chosen for my farmer usually, and then I have to spend an extra couple seconds trying to go through the wrong locker room door every time
It’s a little thing. But it would be nice not to have to deal with that

when i say "my good friend david byrne" i mean "there are 3 talking heads albums that make more sense to me than anything else i have ever heard in my life" and i love them

already seen similar posts to this but like hey! great job bullying tumblr staff relentlessly bc they made a rlly bad ui change. could you keep doing that until they stop banning trans women and enabling their stalkers to have voices here? just maybe? for me?
ok, so let's say i get some k and, for the sake of the argument, once ingested that does in fact make this kitty go "err"
and let's take this even further, perhaps there is coke. one can suppose that this kitty would, in this instance, "work"
now let me ask you, if the introduction of capital, money, would effect this kitty. statistically, the answer would be yes, money make this kitty go "brr"
and hypothetically speaking, of course, if we were to introduce molly to this kitty, this kitty would then, based on prior experience we can then say, in this situation, this kitty would go berserk.
now let me ask you, statistically, what would the kitty do in the case of there being drugs? based on prior instances, logically speaking, drugs make this kitty go purr.
Fun fact: the most expensive subway project by cost per mile, ever, was the Second Ave Subway in NYC at 4.6 billion usd for 2 miles of track, in comparison:
hey it’s ok if you lost your ai virginity back when you were uneducated. a lot of posts go like “reblog if you have never ever used generative ai and never ever will!!!” but it’s ok if you have used gen ai before and it’s even ok if you used to think it was cool, back before you understood what it really was and how it worked, either because no one had taught you about it and you discovered it on your own or because the only education you had received about it was from the tech bros. you’re not a burger with a bite out of it for having used ai. ok
It is 100 percent okay to stop using it today and join the "boo AI" club.
This isn't a purity thing. This is a "everyone stand with us against destroying the environment and giving asthma to poor people" thing.
Did you know that when one community says no to an AI data center, they specifically search out communities with fewer resources? Communities that can't defend themselves? And the pollution 100 percent affects their health and wellbeing, in addition to burning through our already scarce drinking water.
You can stop using character.ai today. You can say "I listened to the facts and stopped." And another thing: don't you think it's a bit more impactful to have used it, stopped, and then you're in a position to say how little it helped? How doing things for yourself improved your life?
also posts in the spirit of "if you've used AI even ONCE your soul is tainted!!!!" can't be great to those with OCD
I'll never forgive you lowkeytalkingheadssideblog
