like. how do you deal with feeding them baby meals while knowing they will go hungry for days or have to eat strange things just to survive. how do you clothe them without imagining them covered in wounds and scars. how do you stand teaching them to read and write and sing and not die thinking about how they will have to leave your safe haven and go into a world that will try to twist them and hurt them when they don’t conform. how do you watch them run and play without bursting into tears thinking about how they might have to run for their life one day. how do you listen to them laugh and not think of them screaming. how do you cope with tucking them in at night thinking one day you will be in unimaginable pain and I can’t do anything about it.

how do you sire the Chosen One and not lose sleep every night thinking i helped bring you into this world that you will love so much and it will hate you. it will hurt you and kill you. it will take your heart and devour it raw while you are still alive and so so full of love. and there is nothing i can do about it. how do you deal with that
