“same. but i read it when i was seventeen - but yeah, i felt the same way reading it too.” he always found it a bit weird saying that a book, and a very dense one at that had changed his perspective on love. “you know. we never see each other out of the library or in clubs or anything.” following her as she checked out the book, he stuffed one of his hands before continuing with his point. “we should go out sometime, get coffee or something. well i don’t actually drink coffee, i’ll drink tea - but yeah, we should go out sometime - soon.”
using one of the automatic check-out machines and scanning her books, hazel nodded appreciatively. seventeen was probably a much more appropriate age to be reading such novels, but she’d always been such a voracious reader, if a book graced her household, it was read. “that’s generally because we’re both so busy with different things. our paths don’t cross,” hazel pointed out logically, missing the point he was making for a moment as she slipped the books into her bag. pausing for a second to actually listen to alfie, her eyebrows raised. “go out? just the two of us?” she clarified, subtly checking her peripheral to see if anyone was around. “i mean, i don’t drink coffee either. just green tea, mint tea, raspberry tea, rooibos tea... just tea.”
