Between  Rin  and  Aventruine,  Archer  thought  that  among  the  many  (  MANY  )  unfortunate  events  in  his  life  and  afterlife,  being  stuck  with  the  strangest  of  Masters  had  to  be  some  kind  of  strange  curse.  At  least  the  former  was  starting  to  become  a  mage  worth  her  salt  but  the  one  before  him  wasn't  worth  the  title  of  a  mage,  not  that  he  thought  he  would  use  it.  And  yet,  just  like  with  Rin,  Archer  couldn't  help  himself  but  feel  immensely  protective  of  the  man.  He  was  cunning,  sharp  and  observant  to  a  fault  but  still  held  an  air  of  fragility  around  him  that  seemed  to  trigger  all  of  his  protective  instincts  at  once.  And  if  he  was  meant  to  be  stuck  on  that  plane  with  no  way  of  returning  to  the  Grail  (  as  of  yet  anyway  ),  he  would  rather  do  it  somewhere  in  his  vague  vicinity  rather  than  constantly  worrying  if  his  master  was  alright.  He  wasn't  even  sure  if  they  even  still  were  master  and  servant  given  the  Grail  disappeared  but  that  was  a  speculation  he  didn't  want  to  reveal  yet,  anyway.

It  was  easier  than  admitting  he  was  worried,  after  all.

It  was  predictable  that  he  was  worried  about  compensation  when  he  hadn't  been  asked  to  tidy  or  cook  —honestly,  he  had  been  a  little  apprehensive  whether  his  efforts  would  have  been  perceived  as  invasive  given  their  relationship  was  strictly  professional  but  Archer  was  ready  to  take  that  risk  (  and  figured  his  gambling  master  would  at  least  appreciate  that  ).  He  was  glad  that  wasn't  the  case  and  it  visibly  had  him  relaxing  a  touch,  especially  when  his  words  were  accompanied  with  a  comforting  touch.  Though  Archer  didn't  know  what  to  do  with  that  small  gesture  of  affection,  he  nevertheless  smiled  slightly  even  as  he  scoffed  at  his  suggestion.  ❛  Cooking  is  my  hobby  and  tidying  relaxes  me.  Would  you  deprive  me  of  the  two  things  that  bring  me  joy  by  making  me  work  for  it?  ❜  He  said  and  wafted  one  of  his  hands  in  the  air  dismissively.  ❛  And  anyway,  I'm  not  that  kind  of  servant.  I'm  your  weapon  not  your  maid.  ❜  And  as  Aventurine's  head  gestured  towards  the  window,  his  gaze  fell  outside  and  to  the  strange  place  beyond  his  master's  flat.  He  was  curious  of  course  but  he  had  yet  to  properly  think  his  staying  through.  Would  it  even  make  any  sense  to  see  the  sights  if  the  memory  wasn't  guaranteed  to  stay?  He  sighed  and  instead  gently  nudged  Aventurine's  shoulder  towards  the  dining  room.  ❛  If  that's  what  you  wish  to  do,  who  am  I  to  deprive  you  exercise.  I  don't  mind  a  walk.  ❜

　"Oh?" Though he simply let himself be nudged towards his dining room without complaints, he still saw room to comment on previous statements with plenty disagreement. "But wouldn't you argue that doing the things that bring you joy taste even better when getting paid for it? Come on, there's no need to play good samaritan when I can afford rewarding you, yeah?"

　That, and he would truly rather keep things even between them before the other had to inevitably depart from this plane (that last thought was a surprisingly disappointing one... had he really grown that used to his company?).

　"And besides, with the holy grail war in Penacony done and thwarted, I see no need for you to remain my weapon either. Or, well, I don't intend to ask you to fight for me any longer, anyway."

　Which leaves him as his... what? Game partner? Former companion in arms? Temporary friend? All nice and everything, except for the fact that he could not really discern their relationship now. He's not even certain it would be worth to consider if the man was bound to disappear.

　"...In which case, it only means you're now my maid. Or my friend. I'll let you choose which." He teases instead, an entertained grin thrown his direction, while he seated himself in front of the table, and gestured towards the chair next to him to invite the man to join him as well.

　"The offer for a walk is for you, dear Archer. If you're feeling like doing something else, I'm happy to adjust my schedule for it too." Though it would be nice to get some fresh air while showing his companion some of his favorite sightseeing spots, perhaps doing some digging into the place he came from, merely for curiosity's sake. "I've got a big TV for movies and a stack of games, too, if you would rather stay home."

​　—He has the slight suspicion that this is a collusion between the two, but he has no way to prove it. Still, he sends a half hearted glare towards the man, pouting as his hands grasp his wrists, though he doesn't really try to pry them off.

　"The little guy wouldn't happen to be your companion, would it?" It was a suspiciously coordinated attack. Maybe they both simply had a sixth sense to detect whenever he's simply vibing.

　What a hilarious disguise... It almost breaks his calm and collected charade, which, all in all, was a little out of place as is, considering he's supposed to be in a kidnapping situation. Or something like that.

　His smile remains small and subtle, even as he raises his hands in mock surrender, to follow along with the performance.

　"Ah, what a terrible situation. Please, my friend, don't shoot this humble employee. I will follow your lead." It's not skipping work if you're in a Situation that forces you to it, right?

　He's pouring himself a stiff one and resting on the comfiest armchair in his office for the evening, as a treat.

　A treat for what, you ask? Well, he's been working his arse over the entire morning, reviewing old contacts and doing a cleaning of his project folders. It's the dullest part of his job for sure. He would much prefer doing his on-field negotiations. At the very least, clients are far more entertaining to watch squirm in anxiety than it is having to read rows and pages full of technical jargon and boring bureaucracy.

　The alcohol in his system should ease him back into the task, he reasons while sipping the whiskey he keeps in one of his cabinets.
