The opposite hand offers a cigarette poised between two fingers. “Indulge me sometime. Even if it means kicking my ass.”

He politely shakes his head and turns his face from the cigarette today, remaining reclined against the greasy yet worn metal of the bench ( which holds him better than expected for a public facet ) on the street of Neo Shousis. The rain makes it smell like ozone and something familiar, like petrichor.

It's rare for both of them to be out and about so — casually. They tend to be private shut-ins bordering on skittish. Slisæ had wanted out, out somewhere to look, hear, think somewhere other than the box he ordained himself to so often. Yes, the continental space he chartered in his name ( just about as shady as the great gatsby, but that's a comparison too much to explain to ardaka until later ) has a locked away living space that is betwixt lavish and well-lived in that they usually stay in during visits.

He was happy enough to slip out with Ardaka — hooded, veiled, and assimilated into the crowds or empty streets ( where people mostly mind their business ) to partake in food. "Think I was afraid of that, actually," the voidwraith starts, leaning his head back away from his hunch over elbows on knees just to stretch, reacting well to the simple touch of the other. "I like to think you would be able to stop me if I slipped too far. But I think you'd like that, wouldn't you?" Slisæ is more than aware Vsentis would love nothing more than to study the movement and fluidity of a Vhrosevphæl in combat — and possibly their enraged status.

There are moments between Atieno tending to most of their off-planet kind of attention, running into occasionally associates and just... having moments of needing to hide themself for a little while, they have a tendency to manifest without much warning. Maybe with a bit of discretion, and not trying to announce themselves too much.

Perhaps that's why they had been lurking just outside on the patio of this latest haunt that they managed to stumble upon. They let their head nod a little bit to the music that they are able to make out. They might recognize the melody.. but they aren't listening that hard.

it's a very casual taking in the background kind of evening for them. At least the cool fresh air is doing them some good, it's while they are turning about a sudden appearance as them raising their eyebrows, raising a small nod.

"Been a minute stranger, having yourself a little night out or something?"

— Slisae can be, on occasion and circumstance, a barfly. Not a dancer on the floor, but the opposite. Scarcely moving at all. But, under the right conditions and time, he inhabits a booth and will sit in silence to recount his day and watch others frivolously entertain themselves ( occupying space oxymoronically like the void he was. ) There was nothing at home to do but sit around and stare at a clean space after returning from a assignment somewhere far away, in Jakarta ( he moved around rather quickly — and frequently ).

"I suppose that would be right," Slisae starts, "Just sitting on my arse after a long trip." It's a little too lively now as the evening blooms like one of those night cactus flowers, and he thinks he should have just gone home — but then he would have missed them, and this chance encounter. He's sentimental and ceased taking things for granted several centuries ago. He's got the rest of his immortal life to think about it all, and many more excruciating lives to do so as well ( he expects nothing but the same from them, but overthinking is always a personal hell ).

Pulled from his immortal stupor and aching bones, Slisae deigns a small smile. "I am jus' knackered, Ati.” A few long days of rest, and he’ll perk up like a dramatic plant finally being watered. The ice in his glass has watered down what simple drink he had deigned to get. “This your usual haunt?”

hello beloved mutuals, july is my birthday & also sarcoma awareness month ( wild coincidence ). as most of you know, i was recently diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma, a rare cancer that i have been fighting. not in a million years would have expected it, but i am fighting it until i win. ultimately, there is no permanent cure / remission and i run the risk of having to have routine screening for the rest of my life.

it would mean so very much to me if you would consider donating even just a little to the sarcoma foundation of america ( or your own countries sarcoma foundation !! ) as they, the duke cancer institute, along with the board of doctors looking over my case, have helped to keep my costs low and my care high.

i also ask that if you ever have concerns or feel off with your own health, please, please get it looked at if you can. catching something early as possible is a blessing. i love you all very much. ☻ ♥
