Been a while since I drew anything LPS related. Though this was mostly an environment / perspective practice more than anything.
Also took some photos and edited them for fun since I needed them for reference anyway. The pond is something I made once ages ago when I was still filming (very bad and very much private) videos with my LPS. Don't think I ever actually ended up using this one until now.
Redrew something I originally did in 2019. Look at that improvement!
Was trying colored lineart this time. Took forever and honestly not sure it even looks that good, aside from the hair. But it was a good learning experience.
Found some old strange toy / accessory thing that's literally just a pink heart inside a white cage with a bow on top. Don't know why in the world I have that (I've had it since long before Deltarune existed btw so no relation there) but it immediately reminded me of Kris and their SOUL.
So I drew the cutely decorated cage and gave Kris the clothes to match. They don't strike me as the kind of person who would wear something like this, but my art my rules XD
Also tried something with the colors. They were supposed to be pastel, but I suck at picking colors, so I still think it ended up looking too dark somehow...
Well anyway, here's the inspiration and some random progress shot:
I remember drawing a bunch random ponies around that time. Never used them for anything, though. The only ones I even did more than one drawing of back then were these two.
Anyway, just felt like redrawing this one for fun.
Added all my favorite colors in her design. Apparently I also did a digital version for some reason. I do not miss drawing with a mouse...
In 2016 I started to draw fanart more frequently, with the goal of becoming a better artist. That is also when I also started posting it online (RIP Amino, you were controversial but you were my first choice)
While I'm not sure on the exact date (though I think it was actually sometime later in the year) I thought it would be nice to look back on my art 10 years later and see the improvement.
And of course I used Fluttershy as an exapmle, because she tends to be the one character I draw whenever I'm trying something new XD Though there is one very special Twilight jumpscare mixed inbetween.

Quick Twilight interlude!
This was the very first thing I drew after downloading ibisPaint. While it looks really bad, it's still very dear to me for that reason.
I still use that app and draw with my fingers to this day.

Thinking of redrawing this one, actually...

Still don't know how I managed to make this one-

Didn't have any good drawings of her that year, so have a very zoomed in human Fluttershy from a short comic and a screenshot from this video I made instead.
2026
From just a few weeks ago :)
Hope this post could encourage new artists just starting out like I did all those years ago.
Art takes time and everyone learns at a different pace, so be patient with yourself. Look back on your old art every once in a while, and you'll realize how far you've already come.
BONUS!
Very first MLP fanart I ever drew, circa 2012.
No intention of sharing it online or getting better at art. Just a child drawing for the sake of drawing, not realising how much it would mean one day
Now, I'm not a "gamer" by any means... but the way I sat up straighter in my chair and suddenly locked in the second Raise Up Your Bat started playing-
Don't mind the fact one of the images is blurry. I took two separate pictures with different lighting, but while editing the colors turned out better on the blurry one.
Previous Years: 2024 >> 2023 >> 2022 >> 2021
Unedited version (of the non-blurry pic at least) + close-up from a different angle
Happy 10th Anniversary to the game that means so much to so many of us!!!!
We reached the first double-digit number :')
And by extension, of course a happy early 7th Anniversary to Deltarune as well! (I swear I meant to hide little references to it in the drawing, but it was already getting so crowded... )
have a few progress shots:
reached the maximum amount of layers before the app started craching just as i finished it
