~28th February'22~
This semester is interesting and equally stressful.
First exam of this semester starts tomorrow. So with a little bit of coffee and some lo-fi music, I'm trying to complete reading the notes of Industrial Pharmacy.
How To Remember Things Long Term Using Mind Palace Technique
If you're a Sherlock fan, you already know about this, but if not, let me introduce you to something that will probably change your life
Mind Palace as termed in BBC's series Sherlock is a memory technique called 'Method Of Loci'
It's very easy to get hang of, but you need to invest some time at the beginning
Here are the steps that I used to create a mind palace to remember all the things I'm required to in med school:
1) Imagine a small place/room
To begin, you need a small space until you get the hang of it. You can start with your own room or house or any place you know like the back of your hand
Example: your fridge, to begin with
2) Think of all the things that are placed in the room and commit them to your memory
Let me continue with the example: think of where everything is kept in your fridge.
Think of where the eggs are kept, the milk, the vegetables, etc.
3) Make a little list of something that you need to remember
You'll find a lot of marvel merch here and if you look closely you'll the stack of copies that I maintain because I have a weird habit of maintaining individual copies for each subjects to take down notes. You'll find stationery items like pencils, pens, gums, stick notes and of course story books.
I have a separate place for my story books but here are the books that I'm currently reading or those that I'll start with in a few days.
And there is my laptop, headphone and calculators.
My desk does not give off the idealistic aesthetically pleasing academia vibes. It feels a bit messy but it's the ideal place for me to study.

it’s okay to take breaks. it’s okay to not be giving 100% all the time. i think the saying goes: “you can’t pour from an empty cup.” take care of yourself first. i don’t care if you take one or fifty breaks. take as many as you need. the world will wait.
