After 9 months of work, my Oseberg tapestry sweater is complete!
This was my first sweater knitted in the round, first stranded colourwork project, and my first time steeking. It was definitely my most challenging project so far, and a lot of learning and research was involved. I used a colourwork chart created by the very talented Molly Gifford, which is available for free on Ravelry
For reference, this is one of the fragments uncovered from the gravesite:
Some scholars think that the Oseberg tapestry includes the earliest known artistic depiction of Odin's ravens, Huginn and Muninn. So I added them to the sleeves as a little Easter egg.
1930s bowtie blouse I finished knitting yesterday. It's a mix of domestic machine knitting, hand knitting and crochet :)
Fits a bust up to 90 cm (36") and available for purchase here.

blocking a gift i made earlier this year so my friend will actually wear it (._.)
round two complete!
progress on the bug collection scarf by yarnquarium on ravelry.
had to switch dye lots halfway through because i didnt realize it would use so much yarn, whoops!! i love the slight gradient, though
My first pair of colorwork socks! Knitting inside out really helped with my floats.
I redid some of the crochet work on this cape I made a few years ago. The original pattern is from 1890 and was one of my first wearable projects. Whenever I wear it, I feel like a very cozy vampire 🦇
i have been having a blast making some knitted fish trinket bags
This is just a quick showcase of my ghoulcloak before I post the steps to make one (I need to pre shrink that fabric. It's in the wash right now).
First off, there are a bunch of different ways to make a cloak. I made a very simple half circle cloak in a fairly short length (about 40". It falls to approximately my hips). This maximizes mobility while still being long enough to cover me completely while crouching. A longer cloak would be difficult to move quickly in the woods. The cloak includes a capelet and hood.
It's made of two colours of wool. I chose to do it in two different colours to break up my silhouette. Even at night, most things aren't one solid colour. Having variety makes me less visibly human shaped (something your brain naturally looks out for), and prevents me from being too obviously out of place. I avoided a proper black, opting for dark grey and brown instead. Black can be too dark. Even at night, there's usually *some* light. Wool keeps me warm and handles water well.
There are loops at approximately wrist level to stick my hands through. These allow me to give the illusion of wings, as well as keep better control of the ends of the cloak while on the move.
Finally, I've added several tassles of the contrasting colour to the capelet. These help to further break up my silhouette, and are very weakly attached. They're the most likely place I expect someone to try to grab- in that event, they'll just rip off, like a lizard shedding its tail.
Stay tuned for the cloak tutorial. I'll show you how to make a cloak- ghoul or otherwise (it's a super quick and easy project).

I finished my cardigan! I'm so happy I went with these adorable star buttons instead of plain black.
