"oh, I live in a desert and-"
"wow that must be so terrible" "deserts are so ugly" "I would never want to live in a wasteland like that" "it's just empty nothingness"
wishing 10,000 exploding hammers upon you

this post and all its wonderful additions (look in the notes) is circulating again. these photos and many of the ones added in the notes come from the US Southwest.
right now the trump administration is attacking the public lands in the Southwestern US. most recently (July 2026), in Utah the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante national monuments have been cut by over 90% to allow for mining. these lands are sacred to multiple Native nations in the area and contain irreplaceable archeological sites. additionally, the commission of Native representatives who aided in management of these lands has been dissolved leaving Native people without a voice in caring for the remaining land. (read more here)
here in New Mexico, the 10 mile buffer zone surrounding Chaco Canyon preventing oil and gas drilling is under attack. Chaco Canyon contains incredibly old and incredibly fragile archeological sites sacred to Pueblo people. these sites are threatened by mining and drilling. (read more here)
The attack on the Chaco buffer zone is currently in a public comment period open until July 29. PLEASE leave a public comment to save these irreplaceable places.
some people have cut this addition off of their reblogs and quite frankly that's disturbing.
you can't appreciate the desert and also erase the fact that these places are under attack.
and I'd even say it's downright racist. this isn't "just" the desert, these are sacred locations to multiple Native nations and they are under attack because they are sacred to many Native people. the least you can do is reblog to raise awareness to the attacks on these lands. there is no going back from mining and drilling. there is no way to repair these ancient archeological sites when the vibrations in the ground topple them and when they are bulldozed.
submitting a public comment is the absolute bare minimum you can do and if you can't be assed to write 1 sentence saying you don't support removing the Chaco buffer zone then at least leave the reblog encouraging other people to do so attached.
couldn't sleep, so I put on an episode of Twin Peaks................... um
it actually is Thursday the 23rd
Happy Thursday the 23rd to those who celebrate
game where you play as a medieval knight but it's peacetime so it's mostly about estate administration and property law
whenever i look into a historical monarch who doesnât get talked about much and is just kind of a blank spot in my understanding of the historical narrative, 95% of the time what i find is pure white hot blistering capability. a pencil pusher for the ages. a 39 year reign with no more than three hours of sleep a night. there arenât any good stories from his reign because he systematically caught and stopped all catastrophic good stories before they could start. you shrimply must respect it
a deer is like a forest horse if you think about it
(nodding sagely and correcting the whiteboard with a very squeaky marker) a deer is like a forest whale if you think about it
Just finished Monarch: Legacy of Monsters on Apple TV and Iâm now convinced more than ever that Cate Randa - from a family where polyamory gets passed down - is aromantic. âHow can you love two people at once?â Okay ms lesbian from San Francisco. The only way you wouldnât be able to wrap your head around this is if you donât feel romantic feelings for your partners - as evidenced by your serial cheating and fear of commitment
im fucking crying
Fascinating categorization is happening here
if you want to dress gay but arenât sure how, you need to focus more on finding clothes you actually like and that make you feel good when you look in the mirror. develop your style independently of what you think looks gayest and trust the homosexuality will follow. it goes where confidence and self acceptance are
âcovered in bloodâ is an ideal state for a girl to be in if you see a girl covered in blood you know she is having a good time
im fucking crying
I have no explanation for this other than it's what pops into my head whenever I hear this on the radio
Post that also work from the perspective of the cat.
"it's a tv show" "it's not real" i don't care. NO SHOES ON THE BED
okay if this breaks containment I think my asian grandparents would be proud of this post being my legacy. but for their sake i must clarify my personal stance. NO SHOES IN THE HOUSE AT ALL
