I'm listening to Night Pleasures (Kyrian + Amanda) audiobook for a third time, probably my 10th time with the book overall. I swear every time I read it I fall in love with the characters and the world all over again. I have such a soft spot in my heart for Kyrian and tbh feeling very assured that I write him well. Though he has SO much trauma, it feels realistic and relatable in how it effects him and how he reacts to certain situations.

His heart is so kind and open for not just a royal but someone who's had 2000+ years to stew in his PTSD, depression, and other mental health battles. The fact he gets tripped up by Apollites who pretend to be human children again and again, only because he's out to protect and defend attests to this, compared to his obligation as a Dark-Hunter.

His realism is only added to in the later books; he's not cured by being a protagonist in a romance novel because he still has a mountain to climb re:Valerius, and though his panic over being mortal with loved ones seems over the top, it's a sign that mental health issues don't necessarily go away when one trigger does. Usually they'll find something else to cling to and focus on.

I haven't had a chance to read the Chronicles of Nick books or manga yet but I'm excited to only for more Kyrian. And Ash ofc.

I cannot believe I missed Acheron's birthday by three days.

I've always been bad at dates but it hasn't helped my mental health has been garbage. Still, wish I'd had a cupcake or something to take a photo of to commemorate. Oh well, I'll try again next year.

Honestly it's both wild and frustrating that Ash's horns aren't drawn the same way in all the illustrations available. Tbh my headcanon is they're placed like in this picture but are shaped more like Hellboy's horns.
