Their lives aren’t {ωσятнℓєѕѕ}

LEANING his back against the wall, his legs barely able to hold his weight, he gulped down the vial’s contents, tongue flicking to catch the last few drops that sat teasingly on the rim of the cool glass. With his throat now appeased and his hunger dwindling, Mika took a few more breaths, looking down at his company as his head rest against the bricks.
After a few more heaves of his chest, he replaced the vial and tried to straighten up, only to have to fall with arm against the wall, playing it off as best he could.
Teeth visible through his snarl, he spoke with tired bitterness, “With what? I don’t think anything I do should be something you’re concerned with. Just-” His words became weak as he slumped, too tired to care, “leave me alone…”
He looked up at her, only just realising he was talking to her back.
“What are you doing? Shouldn’t you go drain the last of the cattle before we leave.”
Was she giving me… privacy?
He was still unsteady from what fumbling she could hear behind her, so the ravenette chose to not turn to face his just yet. He had something that was akin to pride mixed with what was likely a form of shame. Human blood he had not yet ingested, but vampire blood he still required.
“It shouldn’t, no, but you should be thankful that my form of pestering is unlike the others’.” Bitterness tinged the last of her sentence as she closed her eyes for a brief moment to shake the unnecessary thoughts away.
An ungraceful snort emitted from the woman upon the blonde’s inquiry. She tossed a very brief glance his way before she sighed and scanned the area again, albeit more lazily than before.
“I don’t quite care for taking. I don’t particularly like feeding unless it’s done willingly.” That said, there were times where she had to feed despite the unwilling participant.
A laugh emitted from her throat; a sound with obvious forced humor.
“You know, kicking and screaming doesn’t make for a pleasant meal.”

Mika stared down the woman in response, a wordless breath of something akin to irritation as the words left her mouth. He tone. Maybe she spoke it in such a way because it was something she wasn’t fond of, but Mika really didn’t care, he found very little pity for vampires he had only just met.
He stifled the click of his tongue but didn’t have too for long before she brought up his very real and current problem. Blood. Right. The blond, for one, couldn’t be sure of Kaisa’s intentions. ‘let him slip away’ but there was a catch surel- Oh. There it was.
Knocking away the hand that invaded his personal space, he retorted, “Then be done with it, if you have so much sympathy then stop-” He was cut short as a renewed wave of pain washed over his body, jabbing him directly in the stomach. Fuck. Bringing a hand to the aforementioned area, he winced the other hand flying the pouch and undoing it’s clasp as he stumbled his way towards a near by alleyway and mind being so distracted by the pain that he forgot about his company…
Kaisa withdrew her hand quick enough that Mikaela was practically swatting thin air. Pointed canines briefly came into view as she gave him a wide smile, thoroughly amused by his verbal attempts to make her leave. “I never quite said I had an enormous amount of sympathy. I simply know what it’s like.”
Even as he was cut off by his own pain, the raventte finished her sentence and cocked her head to the side. Wine red hues flicked from his still blue eyes to his stomach in which he was gripping quite tightly. She hadn’t even had time to respond, if she wanted to, before he was stumbling some feet away with a vial of blood in his shaky grasp.
All previous amusement drained from her features as she turned her back towards him and propped herself against the slow crumbling wall of the alleyway, gaze lazily scanning the immediate area for any signs of someone approaching. She could smell the blood as soon as he managed to pop the vial open, but she didn’t care to tease or test him when he was in such a familiar state. It was only after the scent dissipated that she spoke, back still turned to him.
“You really should be more careful of that.”

“You’ve never given me any reason to believe otherwise.” He mumbled at her remark. His shoulders relaxed when she stopped touching him, holding a tension he didn’t realise he had in the first place. “Like what? You’ve obviously-” He breathed in and let go of a sigh. “There’s no use arguing with you, is there?”
Mika almost scowled at the fabric. To use as a snuffler between his nose and the smell? All he had to do was get away and drink from a flask in his pocket but damn this women was being persistent. He had all the intent of simply pushing her way and walking to a place where at least he couldn’t see a dead body. Hesitantly, he took the fabric from her. However, before it was even near his mouth, there was a predominant smell of her on it. So it was a toss up between her scent and that of blood.
His nose scrunched up as he passed the cloth back to Kaisa. “I think i’ll pass.”
Fuck, fuck does this hurt… His other hand wondered to his stomach, grasping the shirt as subtly as he could manage. “If you wont mind me, I’ve got somewhere I need to be.” Liar.
“What liking would I have towards the man who took my humanity?” Though the response would be one considered serious and not in the least bit humorous, the woman’s voice held the slightest tinge of forced lightheartedness and amusement.
Kaisa’s lips curved into an entertained smile, crimson orbs seeming to brighten the slightest bit. “You’re learning!” She watched as Mikaela hesitantly took the cloth from her; she examined him like one would a rare wild animal that finally ventured close enough to touch. When he returned it, however, there was a single second of visual displeasure before it changed to one of subtle, yet gentle, understanding. Slender fingers grasped the ripped piece of white clothing before it disappeared into the confines of her pocket.
“I will allow you to slip away and drink.” She knew how bad the blood-lust was. A sire, or Mistress’, blood wasn’t going to make it go away, but it would lessen it.
Pale pointer finger extended forward, almost brushing the tip of the blonde’s nose. “But I am not done pestering you.”
I know I’m not ƒσяgινєη, but I hope that I’ll be given some P E A C E

He felt the take on his shoulder and came to stop. He wasn’t looking for a fight, he didn’t care about how harsh the grip was but it was obvious she wasn’t just simply going to let him walk away so he succumb to the gesture, turning his head to look at her once more.
“I can see why you’re in Ferid’s Faction.” A dull ache began to build in his shoulder but he shrugged it off, more mentally than physically speaking, as he didn’t actually move another muscle. “I think it’d be wise if you let go of me now. No one likes me when i’m sociable.” he almost sneered. His hunger was still burning at the bottom of his stomach. Still surrounded by the bodies of the raid. He wasn’t sure how long this false composure would last and he sure as hell didn’t want this women to witness that. Or any one for a matter of fact. He just had to get away from the stench.
This boy was amusing, and in far more ways than one. He could try to compose himself all he wanted, and she would practically be able to see through his guise. He did, however, spike an interest Kaisa hadn’t expected-- perhaps because he was ‘playing hard to get’. She always did like mysteries.
“You make it seem as if I like being near the man.” Fingers remained grasping the blonde’s shoulder for a mere moment after Mikaela’s statement before the ravenette relocated them at her side. “On the contrary, I think I’d quite like that.” Her words had a tinge of amusement in them, but otherwise it was unclear if she was still merely prodding at him. Sanguine hues took another look at the boy before the woman suddenly ripped a chunk of clean cloth from her uniform and offered it. It was annoying to wear, but the material was useful.
“It’ll help, so I suggest you take it.”

That information somewhat surprised him but he kept his resolve. He was, in no way, the first human to be turned, in fact that’s the way vampires are created; each and everyone of them was human once. But he couldn’t recall if there was any new ones in the last few centuries. Not that he’d been made aware of. Not that he particularly cared either…
“We’re not the same.” Not that she had implied it. But she had tried and look where that had got her. Now she was just like the rest of them. He was a vampire there was no refusing that. If anyone asked, then he had given up on his humanity, it seemed, a long while ago but he still clung to his false identity. To reasons he didn’t believe anyone, not vampire nor human, would understand.
“What ever it is I’m feeling, is none of your concern.” He began to walk forward, barely nudging past her but not caring whether he hit her shoulder as he went.
As sanguine eyes assessed his lack of reaction her facial features smoothed. That was, until he opened his mouth again. It wasn’t a surprising response-- not in any way really, but something about the irony of it twisted her expression into a warped one. Perhaps it was fascination? Perhaps amusement? Or maybe it was something not so obvious.
Kaisa didn’t respond until the blonde had almost completely walked past her. With slender digits suddenly grasping his shoulder, the raventte angled her body towards him and sneered. He seemed to be a cocky brat, but that wasn’t exactly uncommon.
“That attitude of yours is very amusing, but do be more sociable and stick around, Mikaela.” With a less than gentle squeeze to the shoulder she gripped, Kaisa offered an almost overly sweet smile.

there’s something ugly inside that smile. there’s something evil underneath that halo. there’s something violent about that silence. there’s something wrong with that perfection. there’s something that’s not quite right.

❛ RIGHT. how … boring. ❜ he voices his opinion without second though while aware that she could just inform the higher - ups about his … ‘unfitting ‘ behavior. not that he cares much about them , though. it’s their damn fault for ‘ entrusting ‘ him with a mission as lame as this. besides, he didn’t even have a say in the matter , so …
he’d rather leave the mission to this useless bunch , but as implied , they’re pretty much useless. it’s quite well known that vampires do not enjoy the presence of their own kind that much , and if they have no one to lead them the lower ranks would quite possibly kill eachother while trying to get the position of leader. so , he’s stuck here , whether he wants it or not. eyes wander the area as he clicks his tongue in annoyance , moving to a somewhat highers spot to get a clear view of whatever it is they’re dealing with. ❛ you. woman. where’s their location again? I didn’t bother listening to the details. ❜
Interesting. That was the first word that came to her mind pertaining to the man. Interesting in an odd, but simple, way. Most other nobles wouldn’t complain and would gladly take the opportunity of going to the surface, if for nothing else than the chance to feed. Perhaps he would be easier to deal with. She could only hope.
Crimson orbs surveyed the immediate area while the noble rose to a vantage point. His next inquiry caused the need for the ravenette to fish around in her head. She didn’t hear where exactly they were going, but she could give her best bet based upon the previous movements and talk going around among the rest of the city guards. For a moment, she kept her mouth shut while she thought. “Okazaki,” she stated blankly. “Within the Aichi prefect. There’s supposed to be children there, and potential for a group or two belonging to the Imperial Army.” She thought it rather troublesome to come all the way out here for so little, really.

though despite the title of ‘leader’ being forced on him, sune certainly does not act like one. he isn’t even trying to in the slightest. this is boring, and extremely lame - he is convinced they’ve did this to him just to mock him. unfortunately he isn’t in the position to question their orders, even though he sometimes crosses the line and does exactly that. but not this time - he messed up before and has no intentions of doing it again.
❛ ah - you. ❜ what an awful way of greeting someone. but she is no more than a mere city guard, so. he has no need to mind his manners around someone like her. not that he ever behaves properly around anyone at all, though … ❛ what’s the goal of this pointless mission again … I can’t remember. ❜ he gives a soft sigh and seems quite bothered by the sun judging by the irritated look on his face && how he tries to pull down his hood even further but to no avail.
Speak of the devil and he shall appear... It was a tasteless old saying, but at the moment it rung true. He seemed rather irritated and perhaps a tad scatterbrained, much to her pleasure-- it was nice to have such a change once in a while.
Not knowing her name... it didn’t bother her in the slightest-- no, she actually preferred it. Kaisa waited until she was sure he was done with his questioning before she parts her lips to speak. “Scouting and eradication,” was all she could offer for an answer, as it was all that they were really told. She felt no need to be overly polite or to tip-toe her way around nobles. That said, she was the slightest bit on edge due to him being a new face. Ferid-- she purposely did a multitude of things to annoy him, but this noble was of higher rank and was a huge question mark in terms of what he would tolerate. Best not to try her luck any time soon.

He knew little of the women in front of him other than from what Ferid had told him and how she was addressed. Kaise or something? He had no particular interest in her and she hadn’t seemed to have any in him until now.
Mika didn’t take too kindly, however, with the way she held herself, an aura of arrogance. She was just like the rest of them it seemed. But appearances and bias opinions could be deceiving.
And then she opened her mouth again and the cockiness seemed to lace each syllable. Or maybe he was just in a mood. In all honesty, there was only so long he could keep up his calm demeanour before he couldn’t take it any longer.
“And what would you care? How would you know what it’s like?” The question more rhetorical than anything, he wasn’t expecting an answer. Maybe if he was enough of a prick, she’d leave him be.
The ever so faint smirk grew into a twisted smile the moment the words left his mouth. She knew all too well what it was like, but she was aware that the boy would have no knowledge on the topic. It wasn’t as bitter for her to think back on anymore, and thus, she found no offense in his ignorance.
He disliked her, that much was obvious. Disliked her having anything to do with him, likely disliked how she carried herself, and the presence she had. He was, in no way, a past versions of her...but when you’re unwillingly turned you don’t tend to take kindly to the people that turned you.
“Because I was human too, once.” Somewhere deep down, she’d been itching to say that to another person with a case similar to her’s. His attitude was understandable, but that wasn’t going to make her leave.
“I had the luxury of trying to refuse human blood for years; but it burns and your throat starts to feel like sandpaper that’s caught fire, doesn’t it?”
