The Gender Census releases all data collected every year so that people can process data about gender-divergent people in their home countries. However, when a country has less than 10 participants we redact the country information for their safety. These countries are all very close to having usable public data!
If you live in one of these countries and your gender is in a blender, please do take our survey. It takes 5-6 minutes, it doesn't collect any identifying information or ask any intrusive/personal questions, and it helps a lot. We have over 38,000 participants so far.

I just compared participation stats to last year and found that the participation percentages for the USA, the UK and Canada are down compared to last year, which means other countries are proportionally higher than last year, which is really good. I think the blazing by @wasabipesto and @daniel-oneiroi must be contributing to this, especially as Tumblr is such a high proportion of participants overall.
On that note - any sharing you can do with people outside of the white-USA-Tumblr-under30s bubble is incredibly helpful!

can we normalize the mindset of "i don't fully understand your identity, but i accept and support you"? i've definitely felt this way before and i wish more people could do so when they don't fully grasp a label. the examples i can think of off the top of my head are aplatonic and afamilial. i don't fully understand your identity but i'm absolutely down to learn! you've found a word and a label that describes your experiences & feelings, that's awesome and i've absolutely been there! you belong in the lgbtqia+ community just as much as anyone else here!!
you don't have to understand why some people don't feel platonic or familial love in society's "typical" way or "normal" level; you don't have to understand why some people have or desire multiple partners; you don't have to understand why someone's gender is fluid; you don't have to understand why some people don't feel sexual or romantic attraction, but some of them still desire those relationships, and others may hate the idea of it; but you can be open to learning, open to being educated, and accepting of the people who have found these wonderful words to describe them and validate them, the people who belong in this community just as much as anyone with a more generally understood label. you can normalize people's identities, and normalize the fact that you do not have to completely grasp all of those identities to support those people.

honestly it really annoys me that loving your friends has become associated with aromanticism as much as it is. not only does it imply that allo people shouldn't or dont love their friends as deeply as aro people, it also implies aro people must love their friends and as an aplatonic person i sometimes feel uncomfortable in the aro community because i feel like alot of aros have just. replaced romance with friendship and act as if that makes it somehow okay to imply you must have a certain type of relationship or love someone a certain way
Had a soulmate tarot reading done, in small hopeless aromantic hopes that I had a chance at love.
They described my cat. They even felt guided to say a name and it was my fucking cats name. I think they absolutely believed they were talking about a human girl but nope, just the goofiest cat that could ever roam. This is honestly the perfect possible outcome.
My aplatonic experience is holy shit I feel so much lighter after letting go of online friendships they're such chores to me honestly. Why is everyone so obsessed with emotional intimacy?! I'm just a stranger on the Internet. No thanks!
