Watching the whole Musk and Trump thing unfold like:
When you are watching a movie and two random characters start making out:
Walking into a family Christmas gathering and preparing yourself for all "when are you getting married" questions like:
When you're desperately looking for Christmas media with no romance but can't find any:
Not one of my regular posts but as someone who's been headcannoning Saru as aroace I am more than mildly upset by the most recent episode of Discovery giving him a possible love interest. I know that everyone is entitled to their own interpretation of a character and I'm not saying that my headcannons should decide everything, no. I'm just saying that I want my aroace representation dammit. Explicitly. In cannon. I'm just so tired of aroace stories and identities being erased (ahem, Jughead, ahem) because sex apparently sells even though no, good characters and good storylines sell. Come on Star Trek you got a nonbinary character on screen, can we also maybe get an aroace character who identifies as such without us aroaces having to read their identity between the lines.
P.S. Regular posting will hopefully resume from Monday

"But I need a context for why you don't like anyone!"
Me:
When someone's humor is 99% innuendos:
When someone doesn't know you're aro and asks if you've found your match:
Exclusionists: *do their thing*
Virtually everyone else:
How allos see aroaces:
How aroaces see allos:
"But what can be more important than love?"
Me:
Explaining asexuality to allos sometimes be like:
Me, when I'm watching a movie with someone and a sex scene pops out of nowhere:
"What do you even do on weekends without dating?"
Me:
"But are you a girl nonbinary or a boy nonbinary?"
Me:
A cis person: "But I don't get upset when someone misgenders me, so all the trans people are making too much fuss..."
