edgeworth being a shit boss is so important to me. he’s absolutely unreachable and when anyone under him asks for assistance he experiences every stage of grief before telling them to “just do it” (like nike). he denies 50% of all PTO requests that end up on his desk. there are 0 unread emails in his inbox but he only replies to 1 in every 10. the most important part of his secretary’s job is making sure any prosecutor who loses a trial gets a children’s phonics workbook the next day. he only knows the names of prosecutors he’s worked with for 3+ years and calls everyone else You. he does not want to be in charge but he needs to be in charge because simply no one else could do it right (he is not doing it right).
thinking about this some more and honestly I think that “he doesn’t want to be in charge but he needs to be in charge because no one else would do it right (and then he proceeds to also not do it right)” is literally edgeworth’s core trait in all areas
sure he’s softened toward others by the time he becomes chief prosecutor, but I don’t think he necessarily enjoys overseeing other people all that much. he doesn’t particularly get along with others well and patience is not his strong suit. but the only thing he hates more than being in charge is not being in charge. he refuses to leave things up to the whims of others, but he lacks so many of the traits that make a good leader. the greatest thing he has going for him is his undoubtable competence… and that combined with his lack of trust in others is how he finds himself in one of the only positions in his field he is poorly suited to. I am so obsessed with him.
Dont like the dude next to me. Kinda sassy and mean to me.
I feel terrible rn. Ugh. I hate Law class

I refuse to believe that dahlia was being honest about convincing her father to abandon iris I genuinely believe it was another desperate lie to make herself seem more cruel and intimidating. being seen as weak was torture for her, it didnt matter that people fell for her coy facade because it wasnt true. she knew she was more than that. dahlia hawthorne was far from loved by all. she was used, spat out, abandoned, isolated, this girl believed the world was out to get her and no one could be trusted. Iris was the only person that ever showed her compassion, the only person that was ever there for her. Yes, dahlia grew to take advantage of this, but it was because Iris always made herself so small in comparison to her sister that it's unsurprising dahlia started viewing her as an asset. Is this okay? obviously not. but Dahlia did, deep down, under the facade and lies of playing into her demonized caricature, did love iris. but iris betrayed her trust, just like everyone else. dahlia proves time and time again that she's not a stable person, and you can't really blame her for the consequences that initially caused that. Her father was terrible, he deserved to pay. Valerie betrayed her, she deserved to pay. Diego became an obstacle, he needed to disappear. Iris was the only person who got in Dahlia's way and remained unharmed. Iris was the only person who showed Dahlia love and tender care, so even if Dahlia couldn't find it in herself to outwardly return it, she still internalized it
Obsessed with characters who portray themselves as worse than they are. Who are lying to everyone including themselves about it. People generally assume if someone's lying about themselves they're trying to look better but sometimes they're trying to look worse. They attribute agency to where they had none, add intend to accidents, try to convince everyone that this is something they did instead of something that happened to them.
a whole graveyard just for herself
forgot to post this here, very old doodle, happy pride :^) 🏳️🌈🌈🌻✨

I see people talking about how Dahlia is fragile and calling her a girlfailure and all that and I mean I don't disagree but the thing is. You need to understand that she's not fragile in a frail way. She's fragile like a bomb about to go off she's fragile in the way that honeybees die when they sting. Dahlia isn't a genius mastermind or a pathetic little girl with no agency. She's a self fulfilling prophecy who drove herself to destruction because she never got to see that there were other ways to live than to fight her way to the finish line. DO YOU GET WHAT I'M SAYING this is why the ending of Trials and Tribulations fucks me up
