It happens.
Yes I am on vacation here in the Philippines
Ohh cool!! I hope you aren't affected by the storm too. It's a bit of a killjoy on the whole vacay vibe. Stay safe!
You're indeed a ray of cute sunshine
THANK YOU THAT MAKES ME HAPPY
In related news regarding my life: my cousin/bestest friend evar graduated and I also got a sweet new haircut. Yeeeee.
cartesian-method AWWW SHUCKS. THANKS. YOU MAKE MY DAY. :)
Gym selfies just cause I can.
Fury of the Sun
Sun Bak knows who she is. She’s always known. She’s fury made incarnate, and sometimes her own wrath burns her whole.
__________
(A little something about Sun Bak from Sense8 because she’s my favorite and my favorite gets all my love. Also I’m sorry if you hate the title. It stays. Also also, some spoilers for season 1.)
The Avatar’s Guide to Dating the Engineer
Korra is the avatar. Master of all four elements. Hell, she could even energybend. But this dating thing?
Let’s just say that Avatar Korra has it really bad for Asami Sato.
(Korra’s misadventures in the realm of dating Asami Sato. “Sequel” to The Engineer’s Guide to Dating the Avatar, where their timelines are more or less in sync.)
____________
1. The spirit world is cool and all Korra, but you gotta keep your eyes on the prize here. Focus on the task at hand. But even then Asami can be so distracting-ly attractive it’s driving you mad.
____________
Currently working on a little side project in my room. Tomorrow, I post fanfiction!! This, I swear!!! D:<
Woot woot just reminding you all that I’m doing good, hahaha
Currently renovating my house, so I’m planning to paint my bedroom wall with the drawing, sort of a motivational thing I guess.
Also I lost some weight so I’m pretty happy about that. My arms are looking pretty rad too so I’m super stoked about that.
At the moment I’m helping my cousin with her college thesis. When that’s done it’s back to the fan fiction scene with me!! Yaaaay!
Thanks to everyone who sent me encouraging messages. You all reminded me to widen my world view. Sorry for bleeping out like that, and thanks again for the support!! Love you guys. :)
I think... I think I’m okay. I got this.
Sorry I've been so inactive lately. I'm currently going through a break-up. I'm just gonna take some time and recover, if that's alright.

It’s all fun and games until that baby throws up in your face.
4, 6, 9! Love your work Ace! :)
4. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Care to share one of them?
A lot. Like, so many. Like, I should probably work on them but no, I’m getting distracted by other shiny fic ideas.
I had this one where Korrasami has a “hey we gay and we datin’ each other” party, and that’s still in my drafts. There’s also the Phoenix Wright crossover I really wanna do, but that one takes a lot of planning.
6. Share one of your weaknesses.
Focus. Definitely focus. I don’t have ADD or anything like that, but sometimes I get easily distracted and other times I get bored and leave a few too many unfinished projects.
Honestly it’s fuckin’ amazing that I managed to stay in engineering for four years. I mean, have you ever read a math book? So. Boring. Science books are super fascinating, but math books? Ugh.
Okay, well when I want something enough I’m super focused on it. It’s just that things that don’t interest me enough can never hope to hold my focus for too long. Which can be quite a problem when it comes to writing sometimes, because I don’t always get to write about the things I want to write about.
9. Which fic has been the hardest to write?
Honestly? The first fic I ever wrote. It was a Persona 4 (Chie/Yukiko) fanfic buried deep into my blog’s history. I was so nervous about putting something I wrote on public and opening it up to criticism. I was tempted to not even publish it. I have a bit of a self-esteem problem, and my loud, boisterous demeanor is me overcompensating for it. Putting my first fic out there was the biggest, and most difficult, writing thing I have ever done. Prior to that, my writing was just for me and for my classes. So yeah.
And thanks, random anon! You make my heart swell (in a good, figurative way hahaha). :)
Feel free to send me more! (from this prompt)
The Key to Courtship (pt. 7)
Fate is a persistent thing. If one fated meeting isn’t enough, then maybe the next will be. Or maybe the one after that. Or the one after. You get the point.
After all, love will find a way.

7. They meet at the bar
Hey Ace, can I ask you a thing? You said in a previous ask that "we’re Filipino, so despite being legal age, we give in to what our parents want. It’s a thing" (actually quoting). Could you explain me what do you mean exactly? Like do you have to obey your parents even if you're not underage? Btw I'm sorry for your situation, must suck :/
Good question! Essentially, yeah. Here, we’re all for respecting your parents, no matter what. Early on, most children here are reared with the notion that you kinda-sorta-really owe your very existence to your parents (which you do, actually). So even if you live on your own, your parents (and by extension, everyone else “higher ranking” than you in the family like aunts, uncles, and grandparents) have a say in what you do with your life. You can disobey, but it’s generally discouraged. At the very least, you need to take their opinions into account.
Family ties are super important and it’s a core Filipino value. We tend to disagree with people who cut themselves off from family regardless of differing opinions. Personally, I don’t get how some western folk manage to do it. I don’t know how to really express it, but families here are super duper close. Here, you live with your family till you marry, and when your parents get old you have to take care of them (as in, they live with you and everything). Sending your folks to a home for the aged here is a big no no, even if it’s super difficult. It’s like, your parents raised you when you were all helpless, so you have to do the same for them. Sometimes, some people live with their family for the entirety of their lives. Sure, you can move away as soon as you’re able, but as long as you keep close contact, you’re golden. Otherwise, you’re cold and distant. Essentially, you never quite “branch out” to establish your own family, you just tack on yours to the existing one.
So yeah, family is a big component of our culture, and no matter how old you are you have to listen to your parents. They will always be wiser than you so you just gotta accept their advice knowing that they’re just looking out for you (and even if they’re wrong, they mean well).
So yeah, while our (my girlfriend and I’s) situation sucks, we know her dad just wants a “more stable” future for my girlfriend, even though we both think his idea of a stable future is off. As much as I want her to force her family to accept us, her family is close to her. They were there way before I ever was, and I’d never force her to go against people she loves. So secret relationship it is! I think it’s a good compromise.
(Although I still hope for a time that her dad will come around to the idea of us. I can dream. )
