The Poliwrath had charged right through the powerful Dragon Pulse, and it was so unexpected that Dawn didn’t get a chance to shout an order to Mira. The Altaria got hit right in the chest, pushed back a couple of feet. For a brief moment, the champion wished she has sent out Jet instead; the Staraptor could have taken out Big in a flash. "Mira, prepare for Sky Attack!" It was a risky move, but Dawn was prepared for it.

Ah, she should have known—that yellow scarf had to be a Choice Scarf or something similar. Lumi growled, trying to yank it off, but Trick was effective. The Glaceon wouldn’t get rid of it. "Lumi—calm down!" she commanded, knowing that if the Pokemon got too angry she wouldn’t be able to entirely focus. "Try any attack!"

There would be only one move coming from the Glaceon, and while Leaf might not have known what these Pokemon were, she did know her type-matchups. "Big, Slink, switch off! Rock Smash and Quick Attack!"

Swapping their targets, the Furret ran up the Poliwrath's arm, and used it as a springboard to come flying at the dragonbird. Big, having nothing at all to fear from an Ice attack, came barreling in towards the Glaceon, both fists raised above its head.

"Officer Son reporting for duty!" He said quickly and eagerly, "Anything I can help you with, Miss?"

Reporting for... did he think she was an officer, too? "I, um..." Momentarily flustered, she stood there looking dumb until she got her composure again, and shook her head. "N-No, I'm alright. Just a little lost, that's all. I was trying to find the Pokemon Center and kind of got turned around."

"Nice Pokemon," she commented. She had seen Poliwrath before, but not Furret—only in the books. The National Pokedex was very useful. Dawn wondered if Leaf even knew Mira and Lumi’s typing.

"Okay, let’s have some fun! Mira—Dragon Pulse on Big! Lumi, use Ice Fang on Slink!"

The Glaceon was the faster of the two, lunging towards the Furret as ice coated her fangs. The Altaria just flapped her fluffy wings, moving higher up into the air as energy charged in her beak before launching the powerful blast at the Poliwrath.

Dragon Pulse? Crap, did that mean that Mira was a Dragon? Then Princess would've been a better option after all. Damn. Well, she couldn't back out now!

"Big! Charge through it with Waterfall!" Not the best option, but better than just taking it in the face. The more immediate problem was her Furret, who was only moments away from a rather painful-looking Ice attack. "Slink! Duck between-"

It was too late to respond, and the Furret's tail was already grabbed in the Glaceon's mouth, the fur icing up. Crap! Panic flashed across Leaf's face, but she swallowed it down as she saw Slink trying to get free and pull away. She couldn't hesitate, they were counting on her. "Slink! Let's make this an opportunity! Trick your scarf onto her!"

Grasping the knot on its yellow scarf with both of its front paws, the Furret loosened it, and kicked it with all four legs down the length of its body towards the Glaceon.

"Of course not!" She pulled out two of her own Poke Balls. "Meet Mira and Lumi!" An Altaria and Glaceon materialized from the two devices Mira let out a happy cry, unfurling her wings and taking to the air, while Lumi stretched and took a battle stance.

Two Pokemon she'd never seen before, just what she'd been hoping! This did, of course, mean she had no idea what types they might be. Well, one looked like a cloud bird, so that one had to be Flying of some kind, and the other at least seemed like an Ice-type. That meant Iggy and Lyn were out for sure. Okay, then, how about...

"Slink! Big! Let's show her what we've got!" Grabbing two different balls instead of the ones she had, Leaf sent out a Furret and a Poliwrath. Big, the Poliwrath, was already flexing and posturing, and the Furret soon got the message as well, doing the best a sock with feet wearing a pretty scarf could do to look menacing.
