to be honest, i just love the battery mihashi forms with abe and tajima?? like they all have this goal of making sure mihashi feels re-assure and confident while pitching in the mound but their ways in doing it is different yet effective at some point.
lets start with the abemiha battery. ppl might see abe as mean-spirited for being so hard and really strict around mihashi but he’s really ONLY concerned of him. i mean out of all the ppl ( i guess even tajima is no exemption?? ) abe is the one who’s always looking out for mihashi to the point that he could even notice if mihashi looses a weight or not. i mean srsly with how skinny mihashi is already you wouldnt fuckn kno if he lost weight or not but i can actually see abe noticing this slightest information about mihashi which proves my point of him always looking out for him. he’d probably even kno if mihashi had throw any pitch at home or not sneakily and just other small things. and what makes me heart flutter about this battery is that how you can see their relationship develops?? like how abe is trying to get rid of his rule of mihashi not rejecting any pitches and how mihashi tries not to rely much at abe ( though this progress is reaaaly slow considering he still barely shakes his head but then again maybe mihashi thinks the same pitch that’s why he doesn’t go against it ) but anyway we can really see how much both of them are trying. even abe is trying to lengthen his patience more now prior to the training camp.
on the other hand, tajimiha battery is the polar opposite of the abemiha battery. both are comfortable with each other, tajima seems really keen on looking out for mihashi in a more caring brotherly way ( i even think its beyond that but nothing romantic, of course ) let’s say compared to abemiha batter tho, he might not be able to notice little things but surely this battery understands each other unlike the first one. even the sobbing or indescribable sounds mihashi makes, tajima could prolly decipher it without any difficulty and what’s amazing is that it hadn’t been long since the whole team was form and like the bond between this two made it look like they’ve been together since childhood. even their mindset, in a sense are similar, just like how these two were the only members of the baseball club who wanted to pursue koushien--- i mean yeah, mihashi was still in a slight bind and tajima was really certain about it but i guess the reason behind that was their personality. we all kno how low mihashi’s confident is and well i guess at that time he really did wrote what he liked but his low self-esteem made him back out from it?? but yeah in the end, after they visited abe around those days, mihashi had said to tajima he wanted to go to koushien just like him. and well, leaving that aside for now, there’s also the matter of how these two seem to get along well despite the large difference of their personality. well i guess its more of tajima adjusting for mihashi but i kinda sense in the latter part that mihashi is trying his best to adjust at tajima as well?? but well, that’s just me---
anyway all i’m trying to say is that the relationship between this two batteries kinda slowly helps build mihashi’s personality again?? i dunno i kinda see how they’re trying to mold mihashi into a better person and pitcher. it might take a while but well, it’s surely effective in a sense.
