       THE TWO OF THEM had been sprawled out within kai’s small dorm room, silence encasing them ( as it usually did ), for the better part of two hours. the loss of power had rendered kai bored, and in turn — silent. while he likely should’ve made more of an effort with someone that wasn’t his roommate in his dorm ( who’d gone home for the weekend, luckily ), but there was something in him that knew achariya wouldn’t mind too much. but even so, after two long hours he’d pushed himself to speak. ‘ you know — i can do without my phone for a bit. television ? sure. it’s just air conditioning that’s getting to me right now. ’ he sighed. ‘ how’re you holding up ? ’ // @achcriya

❝ ✗ ; ———   achariya was sitting i d l y on a comfortable chair in kai’s dorm, legs s p r a w l e d in front of her and hands rested on her lap as she was playing with bracelets her grandmother made for her back in t h a i l a n d. there wasn’t much to do with the p o w e r ou t a g e, so she decided to visit kai. these two have never talked much, but it never bothered her either. on the contrary, she was glad she could s p e n d time with someone who accepted her quieter nature and s h r e d it with her; she liked that she didn’t have to feel embarrassed or weird about it around him. leaning her head back, she began to think about what shows she could be watching on netflix right now, but the other’s voice soon snapped her b a c k into reality. she lazily turned her head so she could fix her gaze on him. "tell me about it," she shook her head and stretched her legs before she sat up. "i’m glad this didn’t happen in thailand. we had a neighbor who sweated so much in the summer, one couldn’t tell if he had just finished a m a r a t h o n or came back from england - and he did have air conditioning. i don’t even know how the poor guy would’ve coped if he didn’t." she shrugged, silently hoping the reference to the rainy english weather wasn’t too cringey, even though it wouldn’t m a t t e r—most of her jokes were, and e v e r y b o d y who knew her also knew what to expect. "i can live without television—i don’t watch it even when it’ working, but i don’t know how i’ll survive without netflix and the kim kardashian game."

          the artist was lacking m u s e, which was fairly uncommon for the bubbly student. he had issues finding things to photograph, to draw, to paint. he needed to keep his hands busy and if he wasn’t drawing he was photographing and if he wasn’t doing either of those he was petting his dog. and not even mochi was filling his need to d r a w. to help himself gain muse he sat at his local cafe, outside under an umbrella on the hot day. he wore a red baseball cap that hid his disheveled hair from pulling on it in frustration. he looked at his b l a n k sketchbook, anger building. he wanted to draw but he just, couldn’t. he leaned back in his seat and groaned, but before he could stop it, mochi had jumped off his lap and started sprinting down the street. “ mochi ! stop ! ” he called, starting after the pup, which really had no affect on the blonde pup.

❝ ✗ ; ———   achariya liked to think she wasn’t addicted to her regular morning cup of americano, but the fact the employees of her l o c a l cafe knew her by name, r e m e m b e r e d her birthday and five of them had her number, proved otherwise. she promised herself she would try and restrict her daily intake, perhaps switch for green tea; but today, just like any other day for the past two months , she promised she’d do it the next. now, she was making her way down the c r o w d e d street, her hair thrown up in a messy bun and her hands hidden under the sleeves of an oversized sweater, bringing nothing with her except for a backpack that contained an old laptop, a pen and a notebook full of sketches. she didn’t go to the coffee shop just because they sold cappuccino that she didn’t like anywhere else, but for some reason loved in there — the teeny, cozy place also inspired her like nothing else. as she walked around the corner, she saw a f a m i l i a r dog run in her direction, followed by helpless lucas. with a wide beam, she caught the puppy, pulling it into her arms. "look, isn't this my best friend?" she gushed, giving it a k i s s on the top of its furry head. "and luke's here, too."      ❜

"someone had to make you admit it, freak. but you do have good taste, í'll tell you that." she said as she took a sip of her own iced tea and stretched one leg in front of her. she didn’t even know how they had ended up on the floor of her apartment, talking about their favorite actors, playing truth or dare and watching dramas at 4:00am. she pulled out her phone out of the backpack laying beside her, slid her finger a c r o s s the screen to unlock it and opened a voice recording app, pointing it in her direction. "can you say it again? i need to immortalize it." she chuckled, pursing her lips together. ❜

P E R S O N A L I T Y; 

—— she's always been on the quieter side, for as long as she can remember. that’s the one thing that bothered her the most growing up. she wanted to talk, but it just didn’t work. however, this has improved over the years.

—— she is actually quite cheerful and bubbly, especially around people she knows. 

—— Queen of Dad Jokes™

—— those long, deep conversations where she gets to share her opinions and thoughts are her favorite thing in the world.  

—— her initial reaction to any criticism will always be to get defensive, but deep down, it’ll get to her because she cares a lot about what others think of her. 2 much for her own good tbh.

—— she’s awkward, possessive, paranoid and overemotional. 

—— but also really nice, thoughtful, caring and optimistic. 

H O B B I E S;

—— there are so many things she enjoys doing, but her favorites are dancing, reading and drawing.

B A C K S T O R Y;

—— she was born in bangkok, but had to move to seoul at the age of 14 because her “dad” landed a job there.

—— her mom has been out of the picture her whole life. she couldn’t take care of her, so her uncle and his boyfriend took her under their wing instead. to her, they’re not uncles — they’re her true parents and she’s never felt like a mom was missing in her life.

—— anyways. she hated the idea of moving to korea. she didn’t want to leave her grandparents and friends behind.

—— the first few years in seoul were horrible. she was bullied in her new school, felt as through she didn’t fit in and just wanted to go back to thailand. she did try convincing her parents to move back, but that wasn’t an option.

—— that’s when she felt the need to gain control over at least one thing in her life—her weight. 

—— she was obsessed with the number on the scale for two years until her parents signed her up for dancing classes. she’s found a new passion and eventually developed a healthier relationship with food. though, up to this day, she still has body image issues and a tendency to undereat .

—— after graduating, she found a nice job at pizza delivery, moved to her own apartment and here she is.
