Good Omens Season 3 movie goals

So just to recap: after MULTIPLE teasers emphasizing the romantic arc of Aziraphale and Crowley and a summary by Muriel showing The Kiss (tm), as well as Prime posting kissing art between the Ineffables, we got:

No second kiss

No I love you

No confession

No 1941 pt 3

No happy ending

No protective husbands

No wing shielding

No hug

No powerful shared miracles

No explanation for az's weird S2 F15 behavior

No acknowledgement of the kiss

No picnic

No Ritz

No surviving main characters

No CATHARSIS

Did I miss anything?

There are two things I want to emphasize. 1) They KNEW what we wanted, because that's evident in how they advertised the show. 2) Not giving us ANY of it HAS to be intentional. They had to actually work to not allow the Aziraphale and Crowley arc to resolve satisfactorily. It would have been the most natural thing in the world, and it was actively prevented from happening.

Michael crying so openly is absolutely wrecking me at the moment. Seeing the emotion spelled out all over his face, and just the fact that he even feels the need to say "Sorry," as if we aren't all feeling that same heartache and wouldn't welcome the opportunity to wrap our arms around him. It is profoundly clear that Good Omens has meant so much more to him than just another acting job, and Aziraphale (and getting to play him opposite David as Crowley) is something that's gone far beyond any other role. And I am just aching.

In this clip, David also says "I think we just enjoyed each other's acting initially. We enjoyed what each other brought to the parts." We saw this in the S1 press tour interviews, the number of times Michael said over and over how he got caught up in David's acting and being enamored with what he was doing, to where he was in danger of forgetting his own lines.

That was how it all started. And it's plainly obvious that they ended up becoming so much more to each other over the last seven years. That you can look at Michael and David now and see just how devastatingly in love they are. It's something that breathes. That is alive. That came to life because of Good Omens, and now will continue long after Good Omens is over. But the dawning of realization--that it is ending, that they won't again have the opportunity to come back together again as these characters--seems as painful for David and Michael as it is for us.

Because this was something special. Good Omens was so special for them. In all the ways we know about, and countless others that we don't, that are just for them. Michael and David went on this extraordinary journey of bringing these characters to life and growing this beautiful relationship that would never have been what it was without them. Something truly ineffable. And it always will be...
