This interpretation of all-knowing Phoenix in AJ sounds really funny to me because itâs seriously how most in-game people must see him. Even though he acts like some sort of mentor to Apollo and says stuff out like this out of nowhere:
I just finished People of Note and HAD to talk about how well-written the main cast is, especially in how their flaws and character arcs mirror each other!
This is a great game that you should definitely play, btw!
So⊠anyone wanna read an analysis/ quasi-first-impressions of Turnabout Beginnings? âCuz I wrote one here⊠Check it out, if podcast fics sound up your alley!
I mentioned a while ago that I wanted to write more about Vox from the game People of Note, and finally I felt like doing so.
Okay, so the thing about Vox is that he is the typical "prince who doesn't want to be prince", but something interesting about it is also that it isn't that he hates his family, but there simply is a great pressure. It probably does not help that he watches his own mother, the Queen Regent (I'm still not sure if they meant Regnant, or if she is regent because her king husband died while Vox was too young to rule?), have her head be veiled by her outfit, a symbol of how the role of a ruler has consumed so much of her time and energy. It does not help that the Queen seems to be a good ruler, with most people looking up to her, and the she puts immense pressure on herself to stay sharp and updated on all sorts of affairs and debates. No wonder Vox might feel like he might as well not even try.
Then, reality checks in; he might not like that he is the prince, but he still IS the prince, the son of the queen, with knowledge and resources that others do not have. So the villains use that, use his ways around the city and palace, his love for his mother, to get the last Key of Note from the queen. Honestly, the heroes were just lucky that the villains just left them and did not kill anyone. And the queen chastises Vox, and I love the argument here that Vox was just a son who worried for his mother, but as his mother argues back, they are not JUST mother and son, but also the queen and prince of the land, with certain responsibilities that he failed to uphold. Just the fact that he initially rejected the conserns of the band trying to warn him says a lot, too.
And I really love this. It is so much more complex than the game has time to explore, but it is still there. The queen LOVES Vox and we never learn what she would do if the roles were reversed (the roles would not be reversed because the queen would never place herself in Vox' situation), but when it comes to her own life, she would always place the bigger picture, the people of Pyre, over herself, and she is disappointed that Vox fell right into the trap that has now endangered them all. Because they were not in the position as mother and son in that situation, but queen and prince, and he failed.
Is the situation unfair for the two of them, considering neither chose the roles handed to them at birth? Yes, but also, that is how it is, and so they must live with it. There is no time in the game to dismantle any monarchy or constitution, their goal is to stop the end of the world and to win a song contest.
So Vox learns from this. He accepts his failure as a prince and vows to do better, and he NEVER gets tricked again. Also, he is the only person who does not really join Cadence's band from the start, he just joins them because they share some common goals outside of the song contest. We also see how he refuses to let selfish desires cloud his judgement again, with how he snarls at Cadence's goals in the middle of a crisis. In general his relationship with Cadence is also fascinating, but that is for another day.
As time goes on and Vox visits other lands and interacts with other music genres, he loosens up, and he finds a passion as an ambassador, where he can thrive in music like he wanted, while also taking on royal responsibility. "I'm no king, I'm an artist" he sings in his song Spitting Image, but I think that is somewhat because he is young, he did not understand that he can be both, and perhaps his time now working to strengthen the states' alliance will help him further.
Who knows what the future brings, he seems young, looking for the independence that teenagers so often seek. If Pyre's political landscape has not changed, perhaps he will one day be ready to be king, now that he found that nice balance between his own wants and his duties. I think part of the reason he struggled against the prince role was that he felt like that was ALL he could be. Like his song ends on, "I aint you, I'm the next version". He is not his mother, and not his father, but he has felt such intense pressure to be exactly her that he stopped trying, because being the prince made him feel inadequate. Now he can see that being himself, and taking his responsibilities seriously with the abilities he has acquired, might be just what he needs to become the next sovereign.
Basically, I just really liked how he begins his introduction by being the typical "being a prince is haaard I don't wanna be a prince I want to be and ARTIST", sees the consequences his negligence, and does not give up his title, nor gives up his dreams, he just learns to take them both seriously.
wouldn't it be sooo funny if that roommate was Mandy? Not Blazer, but Mandy. And wouldn't it be kinda funny if she knew, even if they never explicitly talked about it?
â like an open secret of sorts, only mentioned when Blazer asks if Visi stole her earrings, or when Mandy already knows Courtney's name- despite not having been near the reveal
"I'm not sure I would've let you cut her," <- Blazer had said, because she's seen those softer sides of Courtney- she's seen the good the girl is capable of doing, even if Visi doesn't
Mandy sees it in the way Courtney set up the near-perfect movie night after she'd come home from breaking up with Phen, hugging herself with puffy eyes
-> their softest blanket, her favorite icecream, the plant they keep in Courtney's room sitting on the side table because it'd be funny and why would she leave out their baby?
She sees it in the way Visi leaves a sandwich on her desk after Robert had thrown her lunch at Flambae- from her favorite deli that she hadn't been able to order from in months
-> Phenomaman was insistent on giving her 'the finest' of things available, and footing the bill to boot- so it felt a little rude to turn it away. She'd only mentioned wanting it once, in a half-hearted rant she hadn't been entirely sure Courtney was listening to
She sees it, and she really wishes everyone else did too
Copyright class actions could financially ruin AI industry, trade groups say.
AI industry groups are urging an appeals court to block what they say is the largest copyright class action ever certified. Theyâve warned that a single lawsuit raised by three authors over Anthropicâs AI training now threatens to âfinancially ruinâ the entire AI industry if up to 7 million claimants end up joining the litigation and forcing a settlement.
Authors have until March 30th, 2026 (That is just 9 days as of this reblog, which I am posting on March 21st, 2026) to file their claim against Anthropic to be reimbursed up to $3,000 per work found in the list.
Updated February 18, 2026 IMPORTANT: The Claims Deadline Is March 30 Background Bartz v. Anthropic is one of the major copyright lawsuits b

Summary:
Robert meeting Chadâs dad (Flamdad/Cirus) and getting so insanely flustered, because Cirus looks identical to Chad, just older. Long, salt and pepper hair tied back in a half-updo, sunglasses, a little more facial hair, but that same devilish grin. Maybe Cirus is a widower. Maybe Cirus is single. Maybe Robert ends up in a sandwich between a father and son. A collection of headcanons, smut, and shorts that originated on Tumblr. Expect gratuitous smut.
The stereotype of the nerd girl taking her glasses off and suddenly she's beautiful, but in reverse. A cold tough mean office lady who glares at everyone until she gets glasses and suddenly becomes sweet, approachable and friendly since she no longer has a constant headache over not being able to fucking see, doesn't need to squint at everything, and actually remembers individual people by name now that she can tell them apart at all.
The reblog chain is one of the things that makes Tumblr unlike anywhere else. All the notes on reblogs are attributed to the original post, no matter which branch people actually liked or reblogged. We want to keep encouraging conversations, and give contributors the recognition they deserve.Â
Soon, you'll be able to like, reblog, or reply to any part of a reblog chain, and that note will go to that reblog's author. Each reblog will have its own counts, instead of one aggregated number from every version of the post. And yes, youâll be able to like multiple posts in one chain.
If a reblog doesn't add anything, the love flows up to the last person in the chain who did. Your post doesn't lose notes just because people spread it quietly.
Past notes will stay on the original post â we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.
This is just the beginning. More changes are coming as we keep building this out â stay tuned!
Itâs very clear that you all have strong feelings about Tumblr and about this change. We hear you. The passion people have for how Tumblr works is one of the things that makes this place special.
As this rolls out over the next few days and you explore it, weâll keep reading your replies and reblogs, so please keep sharing your questions, concerns, and ideas.
Your creativity has always been the heart of Tumblr, whether youâre the original poster or adding something brilliant in the reblogs, and nothing about this change is meant to limit that.
If youâd like to talk directly beyond the comments, leave a reply and weâll follow up with as many of you as we can. We want to work with you to make Tumblr better.
