A very hungry Saitama walked up the steps to his friend's apartment. Finally opening the door, he fell to the dark mahogany wood floor, picking himelf up limping over to the kitchen, following the smell of delicious chicken. Peeking over his eyes landed on some popcorn chickens resting on a metal tray, no sort of protection. His stomach grumbled, brows furrowed as his mouth watered from the scent.
"I'm sure she wouldn't mind, right?" He whispered to himself, sneaking over behind the island counter. Grabbing almost every single one, he munched on the chicken as quietly as possible.
Y/N turned around to see a single popcorn chicken left, grumbling she took the last one before Saitama could take it, placing it in her mouth, eating the last peace. Sighing, she leaned over behind the island counter, an ominous energy surrounded her. Nobody dared to mess with Y/N when she's pissed.
"Hey, Saitama? Where do you think dinner went? I turned around and there was only one left." She grunted, in a sarcastic tone. Saitama gulped and let out a very nervous grin, pointing to his stomach.
"In here?" Beads of sweat dripped down his face, he let out a nervous chuckle putting his arm behind his neck. Y/N sighed fixing her apron, walking over to the counter she pondered for a solution for this incident. Turning over to Saitama she hardly smacked his head, leaving a bumpy surface.
"Who would have thought Saitama snitched every last on of them." She scolded sitting on the counter, hand on her chin, sitting up she grabbed a pan with chopsticks on her other hand. Saitama rubbed the bump on his head and turned his gaze at his friend.
"You must help me with pan-fried chicken now." Saitama grumbled in defeat holding the pan and chopsticks, he looked down.
"I know... Huh? You're not frying them?" He quarried, fidgeting with the pan. Y/N placed her hands onto her hips and smiled.
"Someone ate all of the popcorn chicken so I can only make cream stew with what's left." She chucked in a gentle manner, Saitama felt a slight guilt for causing trouble to his friend.
"I-I'm sorry..." He stuttered, Y/N patted his head with a soft smile laced with the look of tender care.
"It's okay. I still have plenty of other ingredients." She smiled, Saitama turned over to the stove and started cooking the chicken, turning it over once its hue turns a golden brown, the scent intoxicating the air making him hungry again. Y/N chuckled softly, turning over to the fridge she leaned down onto the vegetable section, pulling out some carrots, onions, potatoes, brocollis and mushrooms. Grabbing a chopping board she swiftly cutted the vegetables into smaller bits, pouring it all into a pot with water. Saitama spared some glances at her culinary protocols and tried to resist to not snatch it all. Y/N covered the pot with a lid and went over to make some cream. After that she poured milk onto the pot mixing it around at the same time. Saitama sniffed the delicious scent, drooling.
"It smells so creamy and nice!" He exclaimed, his whole body trembling from the amazing smell of cream stew. Y/N gave a sweet smile, Saitama then handed over the chicken. Grabbing the bowl of chicken she gently placed them into the stew gently with chopsticks, also adding in some white sauce. Closing the lid she set a timer for 10 minutes. The timer dinged, walking over to the kitchen she lifted the lid, the aromatic smell of the stew covered the whole apartment, Saitama was on the verge of fainting, Y/N's cooking was truly a blessing from the heavens. Grabbing the salt and pepper shakers, she seasoned the cream stew.
"Voilร ! Cream stew is done." She exclaimed, proudly. Saitama was in awe and was holding onto Y/N's shoulder like his life depends on it.
"N/N, can I only have chicken on my bowl? I kinda hate veg..." He muttered scratching his nape, Y/N scoffed and decided to scoop some of the cream stew, shoving it into his mouth. Saitama let out a shocked sound.
"How does it taste?" The shining of Saitama's eyes spoke for itself, squirming around on the floor from the tastiness of the stew. Y/N laughed, crossing her arms. She walked over to the cabinets, pulling out her gloves she spared a glimpse at Saitama.
"Genos is almost here. Let's set up the table." She mentioned, Saitama rushed over to her and snatched three plates, and utensils. Sprinting over to the table and setting it up, Y/N shared a thankful look. Slipping on her gloves again she carried the pot over to the table, a sudden sound of a turning doorknob caused the duo the avert their gazes onto the door.
"I could tell it's cream stew from miles away! I happen to have brought some baguette, which goes perfectly with cream stew!" Genos exclaimed smiling widly, placing the bag of baguettes onto the table.
"You've had a busy day, Genos. Join us before the stew is eaten up!" Y/N insisted, turning over to the table sitting down gently.
"Oh come on, Genos is a grown up, He wouldn't mind it!" Saitama shrugged, ready to snatch the food, his hands squirmed in a needy motion.
"Don't rush your dinner, there's plenty for everyone!" Y/N explained with a tender tone, Genos chuckled and held the spoon.
"But there's hardly enough of Miss Y/N's heavenly cooking for everyone." He mumbled, Y/N smiled hearing it loud and clear. Saitama on the other hand was lost in a memory he thought he had forgotten.
"Hey N/N, can you come over? I really need your support right now." He spoke over call, struggling to hold his phone. Y/N sighed on the other line and spared a sound of agreement confirming her arrival to his place, Saitama smiled as he hung up the phone. He pondered what he was doing with his life, a stabbing pain overwhelming the current frail state of his body. The sound of keys colliding with eachother outside his door caused him to lift his head up, Himeko opened the door her eyes laced with sympathy. She walked over to her friend placing her hand on his forehead.
"Not a fever... You're body is probably exhausted from all of this training, didn't I tell you not to overwork yourself?" She scolded, crossing her arms she stood up walking over to his fridge. Saitama eyes started to shut and everything went pitch black
"Sai?~ Saitama, wake up it's time to eat." A gentle voice whispered, as warm as the warmth of summer, laced with the energy of such tender care. His eyes shot open to reveal Y/N sitting on the edge of his futon.
"N/N, What are you doing here?" He stuttered, flustered heat grew onto his face. She chuckled, putting her warm hand over his.
"You called me over silly, now come on it's time to eat!" She insisted pulling him up, making him sit on the tatami mat. Placing a wooden bowl filled with cream stew, the vegetables and chicken floating on the creamy stew, the aromatic smell coating the apartment. Saitama looked away, resisting wanting to keep to his strict diet.
Y/N frowned, scooping as much as she can onto a spoon, shoving it into his mouth. Stunned he stared into her eyes, a strict and caring energy in her eyes. Saitama, has never felt this much tender care in years. His eyes filled with tears, he cried. Y/N, shocked.
"Huh? W-wait I'm sorry! I never meant to make you cry!" She exclaimed bowing down. Saitama wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her onto his lap, his grip was tight around her sealing her onto a warm hug.
"Thank you..." He whispered into her ear, his warm breath tickling Y/N. Heat grew on her face, smiling softly she returned the hug. Their souls complementing eachother, one cold and dead as the snowfall winter and the other warm and lively as the breeze of summer.
"Master, Are you okay, you've been staring into nothing for awhile?" Genos shot up, Y/N's gaze centered at Saitama filled with worry. Saitama shook his head and cleared his throat.
"I just um- recalled the past." He scoffed, swiftly pouring some stew onto his plate and stuffed it into his mouth, a blush visible on his cheeks, Y/N smiled reading his emotions like a book, she knew clearly which memory he was recalling.
"Well then, let's eat!" Y/N smiled, as everyone ate peacefully. Like a family.
