Another advice for girls and young women: love and sex is supposed to be fun, happy and make your life better. If it’s not, if it’s making you miserable, if it’s making you love yourself less, if it’s making you doubt yourself, and if you feel like you have to sacrifice yourself or put up with things you don’t want to, you are absolutely entitled to throw it out from your life. In fact, you should, because your life is so, so valuable and you have the right to be happy. Being a girl does not mean having to accept misery and pain, even if that’s what we’re often taught. You are allowed to decide what comes into your life. Let it be happy and beautiful.
there's a particular kind of person I've encountered in about every fan space I've ever been in where they very clearly actively hate the source material they're fixated on but don't realize it and thus think every other fan who does like the source material is doing something wrong. I don't think a "fuck canon" attitude is an inherently wrong way to do transformative fandom, I think it's perfectly normal to get creative inspiration from something you don't like, but the key is being able to recognize when you're doing it and not get mad when other people do actually like the original thing. like when I hear people say "well of course I love [x], I just have strong criticisms with the protagonist, the secondary characters, the antagonist, the plot progression, the execution of themes, the core message, and the artistry" what I'm hearing aren't criticisms, they're that person being fundamentally opposed to the project of the thing they're fixating on and mistaking it for being a failed version of a project they would have liked better. again, I don't think it's a bad thing to do fandom for a work you don't like, I respect the fixer upper attitude, but sometimes there are coherent works that were executed exactly how they were meant to be that you simply don't vibe with and that doesn't make the original work wrong.
Hm. Your interpretation of this character displeases me. Guards! Take them away! Make them read the source material once more, and if that fails, the stocks.
anyway i’m begging you to go and watch derry girls if you haven’t already

if i could have any superpower it would be to have my teeth be brushed without having to move or even think about it. just every morning and night like clockwork, it’s already done for me.
Arms proliferation experts in the 2000s and 2010s: IDK, it seems like the massive investments into and aggressive deployment of armed drones by the United States in foreign theaters may trigger a global drone race where countries around the world seek to expand their own capabilities to kill people remotely.
2022:
A US ally has been copying US military technology and selling it around the world to the highest bidder? Who could have possibly seen this coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the funnest form of being a hater is hating something you actually have so much love for but sucks. it’s cathartic. corny people are always like ‘if you hate x so much don’t talk about it 😒 positivity always <3’ you could NEVER understand our WARRIORS BOND
i’ve witnessed a lot of people recently coming to a place in their healing/recovery where they no longer feel able to sustain the harm of work (under capitalism). they’ll say, sometimes half-jokingly, “what i really need is to not have to go to my job.” and i’m like, yes!!! yes! this is dead serious. this is a naming of harm that’s so obvious and yet so obscured in our society. there’s something stark about going thru a recovery process where you comb areas of your life for ways to be kinder to yourself and to pursue thriving, and in the area of work it’s this inexorable, violent robbery of half your life to which the alternative is being left to die. the absurdity of trying to heal all around this when we could… not have to do that

"ugh why do people like this character/ship/media that I hate! they should--"

y’all ever see a piece of fan content about your favorite character that is so horrifically different from what you personally believe and you just
do you ever see someone’s comment about a film/tv show you watch or a book you’ve read and wonder if maybe we all truly live in different realities and the internet is the only commonly shared space which doesn’t change across universes, because it isn’t fucking possible to draw such dumbass conclusions about a thing unless we’ve seen/read different versions of it
I’m laughing so hard they banned depression … DEPRESSION!!! Staff really said just go outside
