Me: wowie I can't wait to learn about The Doctor's backstory. Learning about a character who's been condition by the american government to be cruel and to do horrendous thing means that I can explore a scary truth about how anyone can be dragged into doing bad things and how the american system is terrifying--

The Doctor: I went to this school on my own accord because I want to hurt people in the name of science without caring about ethics.

Me: Wh..what

The Doctor: ew this program is way too restrictive what do you mean I'm not going to get to torture people??

The Doctor: Facts before feelings. Being kind and considerate makes you an imbecile and hinders progress towards REAL breakthrough.

The Doctor: Nice people are stupid and I wish I could hurt them for being mediocre.

The Doctor: Oh so now I'm gonna get paid on top of not having to worry about the illegalities of my terribke deeds? Sign me the FUCK UP LMAO.

Like... don't get me wrong. It's not that I appreciate the acknowledgement that some people do get enrolled in the system to avoid consequences of their cruelty and because they want to hurt people and I think it's important to know that some people are terrible like that, but I'm astonished because that's not what I expected when I read his original lore.
