serpenthand:
gifts in hand, isabelle makes her way towards simon’s home. she’s excited to spend valentine’s with someone who meant so much to her. previous experiences meant PARTYING away with others & ending up with a cute boy later that night. simon is different even with his boyishly nerd charm. he’s the TYPE of boy you settle in, the boy your mom tells you about even though her mother never gave her that talk. she meant to GUARD her heart & instead her walls came crumbling. her heart is a FORTRESS , her own DEFENSES were excuses to never let it be more. but isabelle didn’t want excuses as she’s figured out. she opens the door with her key before hearing her boyfriend greet her. he’s still has nervous as the day she moved in. it’s adorable. eyes wander to the prepared dinner before her. ❝mi amor, happy valentine’s day. never, it just means you’re treating me well. i should be TREATED well.❞ she sets his gift down before ACCEPTING his. opening the bag, she does away with the tissue paper before uncovering a silver choker, glistening small RHINESTONES to give the impression it was diamonds. the other is a sweet peach palette from too faced, one of her favorite brands. without another word, she moves towards him, arms wrapped around him giving him a quick kiss. ❝ thanks. you should open yours.❞
This day is new to him. Naturally he treats it as any other day of the week. Any other date that passed just like the rest. Why put so much into a single day when a person had every day to express their love? Mind shakes itself from the thoughts. He was no longer single. No longer spending this day in his room with a video game controller in the palms of his hands. No longer having dinner with his mother and sometimes his sister since they both decided to spend this day with their mother to help with the coping long ago. Rebecca was with her now as Simon surrounded himself with a raven haired beauty that he had fallen so madly in love with without second thought. Without even realizing he had loved her until the words had fallen from his lips. Until he felt his heart surge each time her name left his vocal chords or each time her fingers graced his skin. He could feel the goosebumps rise across his smooth skin, a feeling only she could him him than effected him the way no one else could. “You know me. I really enjoy spoiling you. You mean a lot to me and you always deserve the best.” Words fall from him in almost a jumbled mess, the nerves seeping through his being. He watches her though. Watches how she reacts as she opens the gifts he’s purchased her. He knows that material things don’t signify how a person feels, but it’s a gesture that counts. Lips connect with hers in return of a quick kiss, features lighting up as arms wrap around her waist. “You got me stuff?”
