"No way, man! Y’all know each other back from when he lived in Texas?”
"...Yeah. Um, Tex- Texas." Please don't tell Dave, Taylor had said. Or rather whined while he was passing out on the floor.

"No way, man! Y’all know each other back from when he lived in Texas?”
"...Yeah. Um, Tex- Texas." Please don't tell Dave, Taylor had said. Or rather whined while he was passing out on the floor.
“Oh— really? You from Springfield?”
"Nah, man, I know your drummer!"
"No, I’m serious!" He blinked, looking slightly irritated. "Anyway, I’m Kim."
"- Ain't that a chick name?"
She nodded and handed over the cash, “Thanks, Billie.”
"Nah, man, thanks to you."
"I’ve never been called that before."
"Yeah fucking right."
"yeah. You’re welcome." he nodded again and looked at her strangely.
"Yo, whatcha starin' for?"
He nodded and handed her the money.
"Thanks, nerd." It wasn't meant in a mean way, it was just the way she talked.
"Krist, yes, I guess," she looked away from the dealer, hiding her anger.
Finally noticing Tessa's body language, she backed down. "That'll be seventy-five, please - my name's Billie by the way."
"How much?" He decided to ignore the suit comment.
"Sixty-five, because we're friends."
Okay, he told her about Caddie? That pissed her off even more. But, if this chick was gonna be her dealer, Tess had to trust her, right? “She’s good. She wants her daddy home but,”Tessa shrugged. Should she get into that with her?
"Little Hawk says you're married to the Nirvana dude. Not the one he's platonically married to and not Cobain. Tall one, right?"
"Coke. I dunno what else."
"The suit gave it away." The brunette took out one of the little baggies she'd prepared when Catherine surprised her.
"He got the fucking what?" Okay, she was getting pissed. "Okay, just, just don’t tell him, please."
"Yeah, sure. Anyways, how's your daughter?" Oblivious to Tessa's pissed-off tone, Billie was glad to meet people she'd only heard of in words. Being a dealer sort of equater to being a shrink, sometimes, and listening to addicts' blabbering was extremely interesting.
"I was lookin’ for drugs, actually."
"That is so my division. Whaddya need?"
"I need you to not tell Taylor about this, okay?" Tessa got her money out.
"Hawk said the same thing but he got the Persian. Which is weird, because he usually only did Vicodin."
He nodded and went into the alley. He changed and stuffed the suit into his briefcase, walking back out. “Better?”
"That briefcase makes you look like some kinda fuckin' lawyer or something. Why ya around here, anyways?"
"Black tar, and yeah, I need needles. And, yeah, ‘m Tessa. How’d you- Taylor?"
"Yeah, poor kid talks about you all the time. I dunno why I just called him a kid - anyways..." She said as she prepared her stuff. "Anything else you need?"
"I need smack."
"Guess it's musician season. Black tar or persian brown? D'you need needles too? Hey, is your name Tessa by any chance?"
