Ben would be the kind of father whose parenting style would depend entirely on the baby's mother. If you're kind and sweet, it would soften Ben, but not in a "I've seen love and I've changed" kind of way. You'd have to correct him so much that you'd probably get tired of it, but Ben would remember every time you scolded him. For example, if you tell him he can't tell the child his fears are stupid and that a man isn't afraid, Ben won't say it again. He'll bite his lip when he has those kinds of thoughts and hold back to comfort his son—which, by comforting, means letting him snuggle in his arms—because Ben doesn't know what to say. If you're cruel, that poor baby is going to have a childhood with low self-esteem and with Ben imposing his entire ideology of toxic masculinity.
