Okay, so Helene hit Western North Carolina and it hit hard. All of WNC is without cell signal, some places have wifi so a lot of us are crowding around those places to try to let loved ones know we are okay.

Asheville North Carolina is flooded. It's practically destroyed. 10 dead and 1,000 unaccounted for. Asheville is where I perform and where a lot of my friends live. I'm distraught but I'm okay. I'm in the boat where I have no cell service and have to boil my water. The highway on both sides of the city is blocked off because it's either covered in debris or washed away.

There is currently a fund going to help flood victims across WNC here.

I know here on Tumblr we are donation link fatigued but this is the only thing I can think to do to help my region.

Western North Carolina is my home. I was born and raised here and I have never ever thought in my life a hurricane would ever affect us this badly. Please help us. We were far from prepared and with more storms coming in it's only going to get worse from here.

everyone talks about haha spm is crazy mario goes to hell but honestly the entirety of chapter 6 up until that point was insane and its one of my favorite parts of the entire game. what if you were trying to save all worlds from the rapidly growing void hanging in the sky but you failed. you have to get to the pure heart before the world is destroyed you have to try your hardest to save all these innocent people because youre the heroes of prophecy but you failed. you weren't fast enough and you only barely managed to escape before being erased along with them. wander through this lifeless empty wasteland and remember the vibrant colorful world you had just been in and reckon with the fact that you failed to save them. you failed.

I have terrible news. For no apparent reason, gofundme has disabled Nader's contact from being able to recieve and transfer the money from his gfm to Nader and this has been the case since December 17th, 2024. This means that despite being 95% raised of his goal, he can't actually access the funds bes been fundraising and he has to start all over again because gofundme also won't respond to his contact asking for help and trying to resolve the issue.

I feel like ppl need to take it more seriously that Native Americans are getting detained by ICE & this isn't a "haha they can't even tell Natives apart from Mexicans" this is a "this is what Hitler did with Jewish people" thing. Like potentially going back to Natives being detained on reservations and Indian Boarding Schools.

I think I have talked about this on some platform but idk where. But basically I am developing a theory that the US strategy for oppressing American Indian* people in the 20th and 21st centuries is to weaponize our invisibility while taking away our rights, stealing and defiling our land, killing us with police violence and as mmiw, etc. Only in rare cases like 2016 standing rock do we take center stage as the ones to be crushed. It doesn’t mean they don’t want to crush us—we are mostly seen as an annoying blockade to full colonization of the US but one that must be dealt with. So they harass us alongside migrants who share our skin colors, cut off our federal funding in a big sweep that catches a bunch of other people, and they trust that they can keep doing this because No One Else Gives A Fuck About Native People. It is very intentional.

*I specify American Indian here bc Indigenous folks who do not have a specific sovereign political status vis a vis the US feds generally have a different experience (such as Indigenous people from south of the US border who have migrated here)
