To be a little fair here, in the UK Years 12 and 13 are usually called the Sixth Form. Saying 12 and 13 IS correct, but you're more likely to hear it by two other names in conversation.

Interestingly enough, it seems like American kids stay in "Primary School" a bit longer and spend a year less in "Secondary". It may be clearer on the French side when theirs changes format, but we move to a new school from Year 7 onwards. My school life for example was Year 1 to Year 6 was at Primary, Year 7 to 11 was Secondary, and Year 12....

So, to make it more confusing, those two later years either take place at a Sixth Form School and so they do stay at the same place, or they have to go to a new place called (and this is where it will confuse Americans I imagine) College. I went to College at 16.

Would like to bounce some character designs off art friends, and some story stuff off writing friends/fans of literature, as a means of some feedback. The character designs are so I can set their descriptions down in text form and also have a base to commission some lovelies in the future, the latter is to check if my story has any bumps in the road that I’m overlooking. IGN, you dense, ignorant fools. One of the reasons that Splatoon is as fun as it is is because there isn’t voice chat. Anyone can play the game and feel safe because they don’t have opponents spouting abusive slurs into a headset mic like a stereotypical Call of Duty player.

Further, the game’s objectives are simple enough that voice chat is not a requirement for strategy. Why? Because the goal is to coat as much of the landscape in your team’s ink color as you possibly can. See a surface that hasn’t been covered in ink yet? Cover it in ink! How about that surface covered in the enemy team’s color? Cover it in your own ink and claim it!

But no, you Mountain Dew-swilling, Dorito-munching chowderheads. Splatoon absolutely needs a feature that would only make the experience less appealing and accepting to a wider audience.

Women's World Cup: Lionesses

That was the worst possible way to go out of the tournament. This stuff only ever happens to England it seems. Heart breaks especially for Laura Bassett. Own goals are freak things when it happens like that, a ball just spinning off at an unexpected angle. Especially sickening as 9 years ago in the men's cup, Gerrard scored a goal almost identically to that which got disallowed due to no goal line technology at the time. We're damned with it, damned without it. It's hard to complain that Japan's penalty shouldn't be a penalty when our own was rather contentious. And Basset's attempt was the best she could do in that scenario. It only hurts more due to it being in the final minute. Seems the game ended with a whimper rather than an explosion. I'm going to be rather annoyed if the media try and scapegoat her, but at least the majority of Twitter response has been positive. I'm a little steamed that no Japanese players went to Bassett at the end to check on her, and I can forgive them for being caught in the moment of a celebration, but I've also seen plenty of times in penalty shootouts the winning goalkeeper going immediately to the losing one to try and pick him up. Fortunately her own team was there to push cameras away and surround her in support, and our own manager was sure to remind us all that the unlucky goal aside, she played a great game. Final is now America Vs Japan in a rematch from four years ago. I kind of feel the result will be different this time. But for me, the true final is England Vs Germany for the bronze. And considering this is the first time since 1990 where an England team has reached the Semi-Finals, and were truthfully the stronger looking team against the World Champions in the second half, the girls have no shame in defeat.

Hello! I’m working on a 5-6 minute animated short about treasure hunters, and this is by far my most ambitious project ever. I’m looking for a voice actor for one of the leads; somebody I can work with who will really own the character, bring a lot to them. I’m also looking to do the actual recording session via Skype with all the voice actors present. My budget isn’t huge, I’m doing this all independently out of pocket, but I will be paying everyone who works with me on the project something we can both agree on. If all of that is okay with you, read on!

The only character I have left to find a voice for is Matilda; She’s the adventurer of the group. Super prepared for everything, some would say over prepared. She’s excitable, with a medium-to-high sort of chirpy voice, but I’m looking for a natural sounding voice more than anything.

Sample lines; (very serious) The secret handshake is a staple of the best friend routine, Hardy! Now punch my hand! (terrified) GAUGH! MUMMIES! (amused) Daugh, it’s a baby mummy! (terrified again) GAUGH! BABY MUMMIES! (excited) Hardy! Look! It’s an Ironcap mushroom! The Treasure Tracker Handbook says that this type of mushroom is sentient, and they communicate ~telepathically~, isn’t that- HARDY DON’T EAT IT!! (defensive) Look at this trophy! Do you know what this means? I’ve been the Cedarwood Plaza Pinball Champion three years running! (whining) We’ve been driving through this desert for da-a-a-a-a-a-aayysss, I’m tired of rations, we need to stop for buuuuuuuuurgers! (overjoyed) EEEEE! Mr. Lovegood, look! The Fetish of Bloughenbemireshire*! (shocked) MISTER LOVEGOOD! We could never sell something like this; it’s priceless! This belongs in a MUSEUM!! 

*good luck with that one. I would also be very interested in hearing any ad lib material, give you a chance to have fun with the character and get into her head a bit.
