v3.0.2 - Update to fix iOS 11 Crashes

We are happy to inform some of of the few users for whom v3.0.1, which we released earlier, did not fix the crash with iOS 11.

v3.0.2 should fix it for all users now.

We are back on the saddle working on another update which will enhance the performance of the app’s boot time, time taken for some other features to appear etc.

Update to addappt 3.0.1 for iOS 11

As MANY of you reported to us, addappt 3.0 was crashing with iOS 11.

Thanks to all that feedback and help from our users, we released an update, v 3.0.1, which fixed the bug for most users.

If you have not updated addappt yet, please update it here

We are working hard and fast to release v3.0.2 which should fix it for the rest and prevent addappt from crashing for all.

We appreciate your patience and again, thank you for the feedback and everything you write in to us.

We began with the notion that an address which does not update when friends’ change their information is a frustrating loss of productivity.   

Apart from that, we have continued to work towards helping you save time and making it the best ‘connected’ & ‘standalone’ address book available. We have enhancements like a ‘live’ Widget for your Favorites, easy group/distribution list creation and management, group communication (like group email, group messaging), quick actions for each of your contacts (including from the search results) and ability to share your latest contact information with all your contacts in your address book with a few taps to just name a few.

It is always exciting to discover addappt getting recognized. 

A user informed us that addappt was featured in their ‘Apps of the Month’ column by Wired in their UK edition for December.

We will be eagerly looking out for it in their US issue as well and hope to get our hands on that issue.

Fear and Loathing in Corporate Tracking of Personal Information

addappt is a very personal business for us - almost our entire family (close and extended) uses it.  

We have shunned the ‘growth virus’ and absolutely and categorically loath spamming which continues to happen even after some big fines.

It is this extremely unethical behavior that has made ‘Corporate Tracking of Personal Information’ the third biggest fear for Americans.  

Again as we state in this video - we DO NOT spam our users’ contacts, we DO NOT STORE your address book’s contacts and ‘tapp’ messages on our servers.

This is a great video that speaks to what we are about as inviduals and as a company and how the product works, within a few minutes.

A working product as promised, by being ethical and winning your trust, is not to be taken for granted nowadays.

As Robert says, addappt is the only one that works for him - he has 13,000 contacts!

Mrinal Desai finally has built a contact manager that actually works, is private, and doesn't spam the crap out of people: addappt.Free app, I'm using it now, here he gives me a look. Get it at http://site.addappt.com/ for Android and iOS.It keeps your contacts with your friends up to date (already has improved my Google Contacts). This is what Humin promised, but Humin's databases never worked on my account (I have 13,000 contacts) and spammed the heck out of my friends. Finally!

Version 2.3.2 - Watch OS2!

We just released a new version and here are the changes we made:

- iPhone version is now compatible with iOS 9.0

But we had fun with addappt on Apple Watch and adding support to Watch OS2. You will notice:

- we have tweaked the UI a wee bit bringing out our brand colors more.

[Notice - addappt continues to be the single best way to get an emoji next to your name on your friends phones and Apple watch!]

We have also added our own custom notifications when the app is in the foreground and background in addition to the one you receive when it is not active at all. And if it comes from a connection on your favorites list with a photo, you will love the little animation we had added!

Here is what these new notifications look like:

Finally and importantly:

- we have added new haptics! You will feel it when you tap on an emoji or a message ‘on tapp’ - we have also added more feedback with cool animations when the app is ‘sending ...’ and audio for a successful or failed effort.

For emoji, it is a cool pulsating ball and for messages ‘on tapp’, there are 5 balls moving back and forth as shown in the images below.

Now Send tapp Notifications to Groups on addappt for Android

We just released addappt 2.0 for Android and a quick update to that is our signature one ‘tapp’ messaging’s availability for groups.

There is no limit to the number of friends in the group and it can be sent to all with one tapp only. This is perfect as reminders, notifications or simple updates, announcements for sports teams, class parents, small businesses, coordinating church members, other activity clubs like book reading or hiking for example.

Apart form that, we have also added: - Sorting by last name - Connection count (on the connections tab) along with Update count and when the app updated your contacts - Minor fixes

With groups not being supported on Android Lollipop, we have been well focused on providing you the best for it along with sending quick group emails or group text/sms messages.
