092 // Bring Me Back to Life
First commish of 2022; had a bit of a slower start than I'd like, but life and illnesses get in the way sometimes. A very fitting title, in more ways than one.

092 // Bring Me Back to Life
First commish of 2022; had a bit of a slower start than I'd like, but life and illnesses get in the way sometimes. A very fitting title, in more ways than one.
091 // Lemonade One last commission wrap-up for this year.
This one's pretty self-explanatory.
090 // Ġiżirana Bajda
A commission for a D&D campaign where a party of six try and use a white necklace to be teleported home by an ice dragon's breath attack.
Featuring a furbolg, an aarakocra, a leonin, a high elf, a dwarf and a dopey, vibin' tortle.
089 // Ethereal Mentions
A commissioned piece with some minor experimental stuff thrown in to learn and grow as usual. Kinda like nature reclaiming a decrepit train carriage.
088 // Kinokodo Mines
Some personal work I've been trying to knock out in between commission stuff. Needed something to experiment on, and I've been wanting to do another desert scene for a while.
Atmospheric perspective and other effect stuff, playing with shapes and composition focus as usual. And more mushroom iconography, because it slaps.
087 // Luna
Some more commission work. Space bear and space ducks. And space palm trees. Space moons too, but I feel like those are implied.
086 // Hyperborea
A commission for a Belgian progressive rock band, Amour, and their new album “Hyperborea.” Less detailed than my usual landscape works, focusing more on shapes, colour and space.
Been a little bit busy since my last post, working through commissions since late last year. Good to be back.
085 // The Emissary
More exploratory personal work. Reposting because using the share function from Insta is actually a terrible idea for keeping a decent image resolution. 🤷♂️ Gotta keep typing those tags out by hand I guess.
IGS // Samurai Unicorn
For the last 10 months, I've been working on this absolute monster of a retro, PS1-style cyberpunk project. I've 3D modelled, textured, animated and helped design every single piece of an entire world of locations, characters and vehicles for an animated web series we want to make, “Samurai Unicorn.”
All of it culminated in this short teaser trailer, so give it a watch! https://youtu.be/-pqW0tq9xBc
We'd be massively appreciative of any and all support to help us dedicate our time to make this thing a reality. You can find out more and follow the project at https://www.samuraiunicornps1.com/
084 // And the Day Turned to Night
Probably my biggest personal work yet. A lot of experimenting and re-doing sections to explore and have fun.
083 // Daylight
Four friends face off against the Empress of Light in the daytime. Commissioned work.
082 // Rock Rockets
One more Terraria-based fanart, because it's actually really freeing just being able to draw something without having to agonise over the concept. This one's about the Celebration Mk2, a late-game fireworks launcher. Using rockets that destroy tiles, it can make for an effective mining tool. It fires 7 different rockets in a cycle that each have a unique property.
081 // First Throws
Terraria-based fanart. I did a woopsie a couple of weeks back. In the endgame, killing this little shiny lacewing summons a boss fight that pushes your shit in if you're not prepared for it (which I wasn't; I didn't even see it flying around). I'd just made the final weapon, was awestruck and spamming the attack... and killed the lacewing. I immediately died, I sigh-laughed in bewilderment, then figured I'd draw the scenario to try and make sense of it. It all happened so quick.
So yeah here's my failure immortalised forever. Also gave me an excuse to draw a nighttime scene, since I sometimes struggle with balancing colour values at night. I needed some good practice.
080 // Subterra
Here's my Mermay 2020, I had like 3 months to do it and still didn't get it done in time. As is tradition.
Took a little break from drawing non-stop to dabble in other art forms for a while. Music, low-res pixel art painting, other design stuff... you know, all the things instead of getting this behemoth done. But it's done now, and I'm sure it's still May somewhere. I'm sure...
079 // Aggregate
Sometimes I just wanna go back to my roots a bit and draw all loosely, then experiment with colour combinations and shit for a few hours.
078 // First Impact: Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C.
A recent commission for a friend and his podcast, “First Impact,” where they're about to be discussing the 2002 Ghost in the Shell anime series, Stand Alone Complex.
Used various stills from the show itself and a few mashed-up references to get the job done, obviously tipping a bit further into my own stylistic flourishes than I normally would.
077 // Easy Breezy
I took a little break from drawing/social media related art for a month as a detox of sorts. A little warm-up doodle, from reference, to ease back into drawing this year. Fan art of the currently-airing anime, “Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!”
