She doesn’t even know if it’ll taste any good to him. As far as Velvet aware, she just followed the recipe and that was that. asking anyone to taste test for her would have been too much. Not even the idea of her just being nice to Phi could make her do it. Thinking too much on this was ridiculous. The sooner it was done and over with, the sooner she could pretend she hadn’t actually gone through with it. How stupid and foolish of her but…here she was, fixing making it look nice.
He seemed to appreciate cute things, she supposed. The more she messed with the wrapped box, the more she started to fidget.
Scream it, might as well as get it over with.
It didn’t take long for her to find Eizen, already having a vague idea where he would be. After a moment of hesitation, Velvet walked forward, gripping the small box in her hands. She waited until she was close enough that she called out to him, “Hey. Eizen–”
Quickly, she shoved the box forward, eyes glancing down. The heat from the flush on her cheeks bothered her. For a moment, she had no words to say. There wasn’t anything to say, just awkward give the man the chocolates she had made. Whatever needed to be said, she wasn’t the one to actually do it except:
He knows what today is. In the years he’s been traveling, it’s always this day that causes the crew to moan about the lack of love in their life, when they’d be more distracted and prone to drinking, getting less done, all because they expected to get chocolate from a woman that wasn’t only done out of obligation. They were docked at one of the ports now, and the earth Spirit sensed to allow them to focus on their sore spots.Eizen was completely fine getting nothing, settling for the day to be spent with a drink, and bringing along one of his pots--
At the sound of his name, he turns around, spotting Velvet coming towards him hurriedly. No doubt to announce her annoyance at the crew’s incompetence on this particular day, to which he would say that men should be allow to drink their sorrows away due to love for one day. It’d hardly cause any waiting on her revenge. “Vel--” Eizen began, to be cut off from a decorated box being thrusted his way.
Surprised at the sudden act, he took it gingerly. “...right,” he replied, not asking any questions for the time. Obviously they were meant for him, Velvet’s not one to shy around asking others to do her work. The box was especially decorated for the day, and when he took off the lid, so were the chocolates; they weren’t some obligation chocolate one could grab from one of the merchants. These were the real deal, as far as he could tell anyway since they were cute; and knowing how Velvet kept her skill at cooking they’d surely be excellent. They weren’t called true feeling chocolate without there being a reason, and now that this is out in the open, with Velvet avoiding looking everywhere else but at his face, what is he meant to do...?
“Thanks, for the chocolates” Eizen finally said, closing the box back up carefully. If she’s not going to say it, then he will. “When? An’ why?” Because girls are devious as hell on bad days and just plain confusing on others; and honestly...this could change their dynamic very easily. The last thing they all needed were any awkwardness in the crew as they went through with their respective goals.
