Octavia is the most complicated and strongest and conflicted character on the 100 and I feel like the rest of the characters don't appreciate her as much as they should and it makes me so angry. She spent most of her childhood hiding from those who should be protecting her (the chancellor, the guards etc. etc. etc.) being in a constant state of fear and instead of having this community everyone else experience she only really ever had Bellamy who was complicated enough and who of course as her brother he cared for her and loved her but it isn't quite enough for a childhood when you are forming your trusting abilities and understanding the world. She then is imprisoned and forced to go down to Earth which could have possibly been her death because she was considered expendable and unimportant, and once she was down there she was still treated like a child by those who were around her and not quite allowed to live up to her full potential. The only person who treated her like she was actually important and a strong individual was Lincoln, someone who was supposed to be their enemy and someone who was initially ingrained to hate her. This is most likely why she associates with the grounders more than her own people, because it's the only time she's felt like she belongs with someone, so now when she's being forced to either save those innocent grounders who are just like Lincoln who has supported her entirely or help the sky people kill all of these people, of course she's conflicted. She is the only character who seems to understand that putting yourself first and killing everyone who makes you seem weak is not the way you should live, even Clarke who is considered the 'strongest' character and who acts as though she is doing everything for the good of the people doesn't understand that. And that is why I think Octavia is the only one who can fix the war they're going into and I really hope she does.
