I had a look at a picture of the H&M x Versace leather jacket for women. It was nice. Also $399. I'll probably be too tempted to hawk it off on eBay for some profit. So instead I've decided to look elsewhere. Like this new offering from Swedish brand ACNE (with a very unfortunate brand name). The spray-painted effect gives the piece a very stylish point of difference from the regular leather jacket and would make a nice second jacket to own.

Continuing my obsession with leather shoppers, here's a brown paper bag version in high quality vegetable-tanned buffalo leather. The iconic grocery store bag shape is complete with razor edges and a centre line. Best of all, the material is 100% Fairtrade certified so the workers in India actually get paid.

MUJI HOODED CARDIGAN

Muji has done it again with a beautiful take on a classic - the long cardigan. Long cardigans slim a silhouette when worn with skinny pants, and are always stylish when paired with shorter lengths on the inside. What is particularly nice about this piece is that it has a removable hood. Muji always thinks of everything. 

The navy and grey versions work best for Asians. The brown is too bear-like. I haven't seen this item in the Singapore store yet but will be looking out for it in the coming weeks.

DRIES VAN NOTEN PERSPEX HEEL, £614

I previously owned a pair of vintage perspex heels which I sold at Zouk's Flea market and would love to replace them with this upgrade from Dries Van Noten. The black leather and clear heel is both edgy and sleek, while the camel leather boot has the added snakeskin toe cap, which is right out a Bruno Magli catalog. Love them both.

I was surprised to find such a lovely vintage find on Far Fetch - Hermes, no less. I'm assuming that since it's vintage, there's only one of it. Which leaves me to have to buy it. Only that I don't have €1658 lying around for wonderful ostrich sling messengers.

I own a million bobby pins (who doesn't) but am a complete failure at using them to pin up my hair. I believe this tutorial looks easier than it really is, but I hate having my hair on my face; so I'm going to try, and try again. 

And these "how to" clips from Howcast are so addictive... I've spent the last hour watching everything from "dressing for a pear-shaped figure" to "shaving legs the right way".

UPDATE: I failed miserably at all my attempts with bobby pins (maybe I have the lousy kind), so I went out to get myself a hair turban from Muji.

I met Mark Eley some years back when I did an interview with him on his brand, and he subsequently brought me to The Ivy in London with a few of his friends for ridiculously expensive fish and chips. 

I'm currently planning a follow up interview with him and am pleased to see that his label has expanded well beyond fashion products. For example, this chair. I love a good flat folded chair, and this special edition between Ben Wilson and Eley Kishimoto is both cute and practical. Eyeing the child's version for the little one.

RIMOWA TOPAS BLACK

There's a black Topas hitting our stores mid November. It will be priced at a premium, similar to the Titanium series - basically you're paying more for colour. I would, except that I really can't wait. So I was thinking of that magic black spray from Tokyu Hands that turns everything evenly dark. We have one can left, which should be good for... all of one panel.

It's time for another coat. This is exactly the right way to wear a massively oversized jacket - form-fitting and with skinny pants/jeans and stilettos. Keep the silhouette as lean as possible and you won't end up looking like a small girl drowning in her dad's clothes.

These leggings should constitute pants as well, considering the snap button closure, zip fly, back pockets and cargo pockets. I mean, which pair of leggings has cargo pockets? The panel detailing on the inner leg is very flattering giving the illusion of slimmer legs. I really want these. But again I have expensive taste. US$495

HELMUT LANG LEATHER AND FUR COMBO JACKET

This jacket's combination of leather sleeves and a fur vest exudes just the right amount of Mad Max chic - it's elegant enough to pull off for any cold weather soiree. And while I don't always agree with pairing long dresses or skirts with long jackets (it can result in a very ill-fitting look), Helmut Lang always gets the balance with lengths right.

How can you not love a product named after you? This one's even in my style! Leather, cargo, distressed, panelling. Only thing is I don't come cheap. £324.56

As far as utilitarian bags go, this laptop carrier from my favorite felt guys Hard Graft is so well constructed - the handles, rivets, zippers and lining are all reinforced to withstand use and abuse. And it works as a briefcase, shoulder bag, backpack or courier bag and clutch when folded. While I don't need such a massive tote, I am considering their Air sleeve which looks like a soft, padded brown envelope.

The 8-bit pixels, arcade music and psychedelic colours make one hell of a trippy time when you're drinking beer and on muscle relaxants. Not to mention the freaky underlying storyline throughout.

This is the most underrated game on Adult Swim.

WHALES ARE NOT FISH

This hand made knife in the shape of a whale is made out of black iron and would look right in place gutting fish in the kitchen. The tissue box holder - now this I have - is made of raw untreated wood and comes in a variety of darling shades. Both functional, adorable and affordable - do I hear "add to cart"?

MAISON TAKUYA IPHONE 4 CASES

I'd be lying if I said that I didn't condone the use of animal skins in fashion. Activists (like my friend Angela) would have a field day with me if they knew how much I am loving these exotic skin iPhone cases from Maison Takuya. 

I recently wrote a couple of articles on BOYY bags (www.boyybag.com) and SANG A accessories (www.sanga.com), and I'm almost ashamed to say that I really want to own a piece of their python collections as well.
