ok now i can't stop thinking about what would have happened if dean had left the hunting world and stayed at Sonny's. the guilt he'd feel from abandoning his brother but also the freedom he felt from being on that wrestling team, being able to be a normal kid, have a high school crush. sometimes he hears from his dad, but it's mostly angry, sullen phone calls and updates about how big sam's getting. dean getting into college, nothing fancy just a local community college to save money, but Sonny and the rest of the kids throwing a big party for him nonetheless. getting his degree and working at a half-decent job with friends he can hang out with after work and get a beer with. getting his own apartment, with a balcony and everything. and it's not a fancy life, but it's his life. and he's happy. really damn happy.

and then sam turns up in the middle of the night, saying that dad's gone on a hunting trip and hasn't been home for a few days.

ohhh cas starting a history podcast. like 1) his voice would be so good for podcasts like in a soothing way that i could personally fall asleep to and 2) he could talk about history from the perspective of actually watching it unfold but he also has to kinda make it seem like he wasn't there right? but sometimes he will slip up so they'll be stuff like "the messiah had a very large head" thrown in there and people would think he's just got an odd sense of humor but I feel like it would happen enough to were there would be a reddit thread every few months like "conspiracy: is castiel immortal?? in episode 43 he talked a lot about the places a wooly mammoth enjoys being scratched and he seemed too genuine about it for it to have been a bit"

sastiel blood drinking is getting to me because castiel's love language is absolutely quietly devotedly doing things for you and i DO think that translates into him letting sam drink his blood. i think he feels happy to help, i think it makes him feel needed and important, and i think part of him likes the idea that he's Sharing something essential to himself with sam. that sam has a little of him in him, helping to sustain him and protect him. it's like castiel can be with him all the time, keeping his heart beating in time.

i’ve gone too long without talking about sastiel blood drinking. anyway i think at first at least they’re very clinical about the whole thing, Cas fills little vials, not unlike what he did in season seven, happy to bleed for him and happy to do it out of sight. and it’s confusing for Sam, the glass on his lips feels so cold and impersonal, and still, it’s Cas, and it feels closer to him than he’s ever been. he can feel Cas watching him as he drinks. and when it does come down to drinking directly from the source, it’s from a little cut on Cas’ neck, closest to his grace - which he assures did not cause him any pain. and it’s surprisingly gentle and very much not at the same time

you know in train to busan at the end when the zombie infection is taking him over and the last thing he sees in his mind’s eye is the moments after his daughter was born and he’s looking into her eyes and marvelling at her little pink fingers and toes and he’s smiling as he falls forward off the train becuz he’s thinking about how much he loves her and that his death has helped save her? i like to think jimmy had a moment like that as castiel poured from claire to him and that even in that moment of burning blinding light he found peace in knowing that he was saving his daughter from eternal suffering in god’s name, and he remembered the years they had together and felt a bittersweet mourning and adoration so all-encompassing that he barely even felt castiel settle in his cells, just sank down into sleep thinking about his baby girl
