So I was thinking bout the Life Series (cause when do I not?) specifically the parallels between them.
So obviously I’m a huge Watcher Lore person, right? You know all the things.
But I think that in that lore no one remembers the past games you know? Like they atomically know everyone’s names and stuff and may like someone more bc they were past teammates so like Grian being teamed with Scar in Double Life like Scar vaguely remembers Grian being like being overbearing (bc of him being on Red Life for like 4 episodes), he just doesn’t know how he knows?
Ok? Ok.
So let’s get back on track.
I was thinking about how DL and SL both ended really similarly, right?
They both had someone who, objectively, had no allies (not counting Scott for Pearl bc they were like barely teamed the entire season) (may be wrong I’ve never seen either of their povs BUT ANYWAYS)
So it was someone with no allies and no friends who got to the last two standing. And the only reason they won, was because the other person sacrificed themselves so the other could win.
(Now Imma just ramble so fair warning)
So first, irl the ccs remember the past games obv so the fact that Scott sacrificed himself to let Pearl win is so interesting to me bc he could have been the first person to win twice, AND would have won twice IN A ROW!!! and he just didn’t. Crazy stuff.
Secondly, for the fellow Lore Junkies, like I said, I don’t think they remember past games right? But they remember like feelings. So in the lore (in my opinion) Pearl decideing to sacrifice herself to let Scar win was bc she remembered that at some point in her life from before, someone sacrificed themselves to let her win. So she like knew that she had to do it for Scar. She has to sacrifice herself to let him win bc of Scott sacrificing himself. (And I think the only reason the Watchers let her like vaguely remember that was so they’d have a good show/ different winner bc ‘where’s the fun in someone winning twice?’ (Could also be argued that the reason Scott ever had the idea to even sacrifice himself was bc the Watchers gave him the idea so that he wouldn’t win twice))
BUT THEN HOW DID MARTYN WIN TWICE?? I hear you yell.
Well that not what I’m talking about right now. I’m talking about the parallels between DL and SL.
(I saw a headcanon that he got so many hours from winning Limited Life that those hours in a way transferred to Past Life and helped him win or something like that I don’t really remember)
Also, random but I feel the need to say
Grian remembers all the games. He knows how all of them ended. And I think the reason he didn’t want to be teamed with Scar in DL was bc he remembered how 3rd life ended and didn’t want to have to go through that pain again. But he also knew that who ever made it to the end was going to have to go through it which could be part of the reason that he was lowkey fine with aggravating the reds (the whole fishing pole accident) (ik he didn’t mean to but like…) (he did it then died twice in an episode so…)
But yeah thx for listening (reading…?) my rambles i will answer any questions about my personal Watcher Lore opinions or clarify anything I said in the post yall it’s so late idk why don’t just sleep (do you know how many typos there were in this??)
Yall I just remembered this random conversation I was apart of and felt the need to share it
Kid 1: Well I think you need to wait to go to the Stronghold (Minecraft) so everyone on the server can raid it.
Kid 2: But no one else is ready to go but I am and I wanna go now.
Me (who was listening after realizing it was about Minecraft): you could always just go to one of the other Stronghold ya know.
1: what?
Me: well if you’re worried about not being able to raid a stronghold because someone loots it before you, just go find a different one.
2: what are you talking about?
Me: you know… there’s 128 Strongholds in every server. I mean, like the Ends the same no matter what, but whenever you throw an Eye it just takes you to the closest one. So just go out a bit and find a different one.
1 (who looks ready to argue with me for about 10 minutes): No that’s not-
2 (stoping him with a hand across his chest and staring into my soul): Stop. She knows what she’s taking about.
Instead of just choosing another flower for one of our lovely winners (paired with the fact that I wouldn’t be able to choose just one) I went with a Red Laurel. The red because they win in their red life and the Laurel because it means victory in their flower language!
