Casa Ruby, the oldest LGBTQ+ center in Washington, DC had its annual $839,000 funding slashed by the DHS (Department of Human Services). Given 5 days notice that their grant would not be renewed, they provided shelter and essential services to LGBTQ+ people round the clock. 30 people lost their jobs and 50 people lost their shelter. Please donate to their GoFundMe to help them keep their remaining beds across 7 DC locations. THIS IS DIRECT VIOLENCE THAT WILL LEAD TO THE LOSS OF LGBTQ+ LIVES AND CAUSES DIRECT HARM. Homelessness in DC is an ongoing issue only being made worse by gentrification and our people are amongst the most vulnerable. Please donate.
