Anyone have advice for why/how I should talk myself into watching next week? I know it's been all "twisty malex moment in 3×08", but I've finally remembered why I never trust anything they tease- because there have been like 2 malex moments in 7 episodes and suddenly we're to believe something is going to happen? Blegh, I think I'm out for the season and will just be peaking at Twitter and Tumblr for episode info each week...

Does anyone else ever just think about what the hell must have happened in that Airstream in 2×06? Like, besides the obvious, what could have happened that Alex left the situation without **any** hope that he and Michael would ever make it work some day.
This fucks me up, man. How the writers gunna come back from that? How do you explain away that whatever happened that night must have been really eye opening for Alex that Michael didn't just want Maria, but he didn't want to be with Alex ever again...
im not sure if you take requests, but if you do, would you consider making malex with their pride flags and a fuck trump sign hehe<33
well i tried ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This is **chef's kiss**
Here's the thing- I love Malex. I didn't discover RNM until like July, when S1 was already on Netflix. I had totally bought in to this extremely special thing that the writers/creators/actors had made - the Malex relationship- and I also enjoyed the rest of the characters and storyline.
And then S2 happened. At first, I didn't love the idea of a Michael/Maria relationship, because I had bought in to Malex, but, still, I gave it a chance. I tuned in every single week and watched every new episode (except 2×07 because my brain needed a break from the previous episode). And when S2 ended, I just found myself in kind of a confused haze- asking myself things like, "Wait, why was I so obsessed with this show after I saw S1?" "What exactly happened in S2?" "Should I rewatch it? No, I don't really want to."
I kept going around in my head about the decisions made for the show. Why did they underutilize Kyle's character and put him off in a storyline of his own- what was the point of that? Why did they have a romantic relationship for Michael and Maria- what did that relationship do to for either of those characters? Why waste so much of a season on people being kidnapped to have it be just Helena wanting a little revenge- this seemed like such a reach for content, when content shouldn't be hard to find when it is a show about aliens!
So much of S2 seemed this way- like a struggle to find content where it wasn't needed.
Now that I've had some time to reflect, here's where am at: surprisingly irritated at how poorly S2 was written, yet hesitantly hopeful that somehow S3 will fix it. But, honestly, that's a tall order.
michael and the rnm writers both really act like the impact of alex enlisting was bigger and more painful for michael’s life than it was for alex’s…
y’all remember alex? 17-year-old alex manes? remember how he had to hide or destroy every part of his life that made him feel like himself so that he might one day be able to protect himself from jesse?
This Alex
became this Alex
But sure. It was harder on Michael.
LOUDER for those in the back! ヽ(ˇっˇ)ノ💖💜💙
Does anyone else ever think of that scene in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire where Hermione says,
"Victor's more of a physical being...I just mean he isn't particularly loquacious."
Yeah, so, like, I'm pretty sure she's actually talking about Alex Manes...
Michael: I wanna be good for someone.
Alex: 🎵 You are the best of me 🎵
Me: 🤡 Guess I'll stick around for S3
You are a hole in my life, a black hole. Anything I place there cannot be returned. I miss you terribly. Ci vedremo lassù, angelo.
❤😭

Wow!
Caution: Small rant ahead
Why did they pull Kyle so far out of the main plot line this season? What is the point of Steph's character? I wish they would have given her way more time to give me some buy-in to her character or just removed her altogether and let Kyle be a part of the main plot... cuz like a lot of stuff went down in 2×12 and he's just like... doing her makeup?? If she doesn't tie into the main plot somehow, then why waste so much precious screen time from an only 13 episode season on her storyline? I had gotten so excited about her at first but then she only had a couple of minutes on screen every few episodes...like why??
Rant over
Any chance that Graham Green is actually the bad guy? That his 'astonishing alien artifact' he plans to unveil at the end of Crash Con is actually, like the bomb or Michael himself or something like that...? Like as revenge for his brother dying?
imagine alex’s face when flint tells him his ~evil plan~ and he is just like “that’s not gonna work, he wouldn’t do that, he wouldn’t build a fucking bomb that could destroy him and his family AND his species” then a week later flint is like “ok youre free to go, he build it” and alex is just like “he did wHAT???l
Yes! I just have this moment in my head where Alex is almost laughing at Flint, his one eyebrow raised, and telling him, "He won't do what you want." Because in his head, Michael doesn't love him anymore- especially not enough to put his siblings in any danger. But he doesn't want to tell Flint "If you wanted Michael to do your bidding, you should have grabbed Maria," because he doesn't want to put Maria in danger.
...and then he finds out Michael did it, and it's Flint's turn to laugh, because obviously he did his research before kidnapping his own brother. And that research showed that one Michael Guerin is still very deeply in love with one Alex Manes.
In other news... this will be haunting me until Malex gets together again.
