THESE BABIES HAVE TURNED EVIL-
So, for reference, I have temporarily named the babies. Spotted boi shown in the picture is Miss Vanjie, the female black kitten with a licking addiction is Holly, and the male shy black kitten is Pepper.
Miss Vanjie was the first one who figured out how to walk (or in this case hobble as they can’t exactly walk yet...) and the first one who figured how to get in and out of their little nesting box. Wow, good thing we named him Miss Vanjie!
Just yesterday in the evening, Pepper figured out how to get out. Which was cute with him taking his first few timid steps and all. But then at like 1:45 AM in the morning, Holly learned how to escape, too. And that was a problem with Miss Vanjie trying to scuttle under the bed and Pepper trying to get out through the partially opened door to get to the rest of the house. So I tried to build a wall. (No I’m not Trump, but for Halloween last year I did dress up as him. With my smol hands and all, I was perfect, but that’s aside the point.)
I used Snaggle’s waterbowl as part of the wall because none of them liked the water, but I figured out this was flawed as Pepper had previously slammed his face into the water and didn’t seem as offended as Miss Vanjie or Holly had. Because he kept charging his way through the water bowl, leaving him a soaking wet mess. Meanwhile, Miss Vanjie had begun to climb over the wall I kept building higher and higher. I was dumb to think that if he had problems climbing over my leg, surely he wouldn’t be able to climb over my tool box that was twice its height. I WAS WRONG-
So when I finally got the wall about as tall as the nesting box itself, Miss Vanjie just resorted to doing the same thing Pepper was doing. Running through the water bowl to get out.
Each time I tried to put the kittens back in the nesting box to hinder their escape or dissuade them, except they appear to have inherited their mother’s stubbornness and run out immediately after I put them back in.
Finally their mother showed up, and I’d have one crying soaking wet kitten in each hand while Holly’s behind the wall wondering what the fuck was going on. And I was afraid Snaggle wouldn’t wanna go near if the wall was there so I’d have to deconstruct part of the wall to let her go in. Big mistake because she did go in, sniff the kittens for a bit, try to grab them by the neck, then decide it was way too much as two of her kittens began scuttling across my bedroom floor out to freedom and she immediately left, leaving me to put them back in and try to quickly put the wall back up.
This went on until 2:15 AM.
So, I have deemed Snaggle’s kittens worthy of this sign over their nesting box. >:(
In this image is now 8:30-ish in the morning, and it is Miss Vanjie peering out of his new prison cell. His cute looks will deceive you.
