You know someone pointed this out, but what do you think of the clone wars interpretation of anakin? Cause someone said his actions doesn’t make it believable he would join the dark side since he is more open to, you know being dark side kinda and be smart enough when or when not to indulge. Where as prequels anakin held on the jedi code cause it was one of the only things holding him together until it failed him
I’m not sure if Anakin being “more open” to the Dark side necessarily means that it doesn’t make sense for him to fall to the Dark side (nor is he any less susceptible) when it comes to Sidious emotionally manipulating him into believing it is the only path for him to go.
I don’t think the Dark Side is synonymous with a drug or a potentially dangerous indulgence. I know that the show likes to play the Darth Vader theme for that DRAMA, every time Anakin commits something that seems particularly violent, but I don’t always feel like those moments are actually dark for him.
If anything, I think it mostly hints you to know how this sort of behavior will get twisted and turned Dark by Sidious’ final push when he finds Anakin vulnerable and cornered.
By the time we get to ROTS, Anakin is weathered down from years of war, jaded and cynical from seeing the Jedi Order fail Ahsoka, and frustrated at how nothing they’ve done have actually amounted to anything.
On top of that, he foresees a vision of his wife dying and is then told that he need to “let her go” when he asks a mentor for help.
Anakin, who has followed the Jedi doctrine as best as he can because it acts as the only steady foundation that he has ever known – begins to feel the edges of a shaky stage instead.
I can still see TCW Anakin turning into the desperate, tearful Anakin of ROTS when Sidious tells him he is the only one who can possible save Padme.
