Summary:

It's near the end of a normal day--or at least as normal a day as Harry usually has--when he fields a call from Kim, requesting urgent, unofficial back-up. Of course he drops everything to get there as fast as possible.

EMPATHY [Challenging: Success] — Kim’s body language gentles a little, passing the threat, the control to you. This is why he needed you: he can’t keep the situation from exploding and extract the girl at the same time. For once, he’s not here as the decorated lieutenant of the RCM. He’s here as Kim Kitsuragi.

kamet is obviously a really good liar whether he admits it or not, but his tell is using slightly too truthful grammar (objectively hilarious given who he is and what he cares about):

costis notices when he talks about nahuseresh in the past tense

nahuseresh notices when he uses the wrong pronoun (“you” instead of “we”) when he’s talking about nahuseresh’s increasingly sure-to-fail plan to seduce and undermine attolia

and the fact that they BOTH clock this about him?? awful.

the thing about harry du bois and kim kitsuragi is that they fit one another, in a way that kind of goes beyond normal fitting

like, harry is A Lot. this is known. he is Too Much for a lot of people (dora included), but he is not Too Much for kim. Kim fucking eats that shit up. every time harry centers him or puts the spotlight on him, i expected him to be embarrassed and he puts on a show of embarrassment but if you have the good empathy you know, you know, that he's ABSOLUTELY LOVING IT, he's just not very demonstrative about it

he loves it when harry gives him a shoutout on his favorite radio station

he loves it when harry dedicates a karaoke song to him

he's a little less enthused about getting dragged out onto the dance floor but that's more because of his history as a juvie cop than anything about harry's attention being on him. this is a man who has always been sidelined his whole life, who has had to walk a tightrope to make sure he was never showing too much of himself and for whom the idea of attracting attention has typically meant attracting negative attention

and then he has harry's Whole Attention and suddenly all of it's positive and focused on him.

harry thinks that love at first sight is what happened when he met dora

but love at first sight is ACTUALLY what happened when he met kim

it just takes him a lot longer to realize it

(this is why i'm not very good at reading/writing slowburn in this fandom. while my caveat is that as with any read, esp in a fandom where the player has so many ways to play the MC, this is mega YMMV, i just cannot envision any scenario where these two chucklefucks aren't basically married by the time the tribunal is over. the only kind of slowburn is the kind where it takes them both six months to actually notice they've been dating since they met.)

I recently played Disco Elysium for the first time and now I'm making it both of our problem HUGE SPOILER WARNING This took so much time and effort, but I truly thing that this project was the creative push that i needed to get out of a 6-month-long art block I'm very proud of how this video turned out and I hope you like it too, even if you're unfamiliar with Disco Elysium! Beware of the spoilers though, especially if you consider playing the game in the future I've written a longer and more in-depth breakdown of my inspiration and thought process last month, you're welcome to check it out as well if you missed it!

i cant believe people think kim is normal. im replaying the game. its 10 am on day 1. ive known this man for less than 2 hours. i suggest he Shoot The Body Down. he thinks for a moment. locks in. DOES IT. gets it wrong. HANDS ME THE GUN. and gives me a highfive when i manage it. and common consensus is that kim is the normal one?
