if an aid of any kind helps you to live a more functional life, donāt deny yourself that help. especially if you think this aid makes you lazy. it doesnāt. other people who donāt need this aid to function more easily will tell you otherwise. donāt believe them. they havenāt ever needed it yet, but if they do, thereās no shame in that.
there are places in the world today that are experiencing 40°C for the first time in recorded history. of course there's no way to know whether chucking billionaires into volcanos will appease the sun god but i feel we're doing the scientific method a disservice if we don't at least try

"Indigo dyeing silk thread"
In case anyone wonders what the Japanese is saying
I just learned about this recently from a Viking reenactor! Indigo dye isn't blue until it oxidizes, so when you dye with indigo your cloth or thread doesn't come out of the water blue, it comes out and then reacts with the oxygen in the air and seems to spontaneously turn blue in front of your eyes. It's a really cool process to witness.
i hate it when i cant even write a poem about something because its too obvious. like in the airbnb i was at i guess it used to be a kids room cause you could see the imprint of one little glow in the dark star that had been missed and painted over in landlord white. like that's a poem already what's the point
you get it. you get the themes. i dont have time to do it justice. just look at it its on the ceiling
Very true
The fastest way to accomplish The Project is to cease being afraid of The Project. The Project cannot maim you. The Project cannot kill you. The Project is more afraid of you than you are of it. It is okay if The Project turns out differently from how it was in your head, and it is okay if it has flaws. You are capable of engaging with The Project.
washing dishes is evil because you go "oh fuck there's so many dishes this is gonna take foreverrr" and then you enter the dish abyss and emerge with your abdomen somehow covered in water and your hands all wrinky and then you look at the clock and what felt like half an hour was actually 10 minutes
This Dan Piraro comic always makes me cry.
At some point, probably within the next five years, this is going to happen to me with the crows. They're just going to show up outside one of my bedroom windows and go "CAW??" Or possibly "PEANUT?"
Fall in love with someone who appreciates the ālittle thingsā in life. Like the blue of the ocean, the calmness of an empty sky, or going grocery shopping at 1am. Fall in love with someone who makes the small things feel like everything.

Has this been done yet
āDo it scaredā ādo it aloneā are all great tips, but my biggest takeaway from therapy is do it messy. This is especially true if youāre getting out of a burnout, which I experience often. Literally just do it messy. You donāt need to pick the perfect trail to walk, the perfect playlist to listen to, whatever the fuck it is. You donāt need to have a meticulous to do list and wake up at the exact time you planned and drink the exact amount of water you planned to drink. Like the biggest thing for people like me to remember is sometimes itās okay to do it messy. Put on a random yt workout and just get it done in sweats. Do 5 minutes of a daunting task and go from there. Sometimes just getting up is a win during intense burnouts or depressive funks. Literally just do it messy.
Unrelated to RPGs, but I had a dream where I had the rules of heaven explained to me, and here they are:
Any animal you put salt on goes to heaven with you when you die (there are lots of slugs in heaven).
If you insult a Pokemon even once, believe it or not? Straight to hell.
(Incidentally, Hell recently stopped tormenting people because they're trying to find the soul of Walter White from Breaking Bad. The demons thought it was a documentary and the damned don't want to correct them, you know?)
Heaven has a library with every book and a library with every magazine. When you die, you have to choose which you want before you can go to Heaven.
Every ten years you get vacation days and can go to either earth or hell. They recommend earth but it's your choice really.
The damned also get vacation days. Please don't bother the damned souls while they're up here, they have it bad enough already.
God is a horse. Please don't bring it up, he's pretty sensitive about it.
If you have issues with Heaven, don't worry! There's a basement and if you complain, you get to go in the basement until you stop complaining.
Contrary to popular belief, heaven doesn't last forever. It lasts for an average of 10 billion years (depending on how much technology you want in your heaven house). At the end, you turn into a cake and everyone eats you.
Please remake your setting's celestial planes in accordance with these rules, thank you.
