Maybe I'm stupid, but what tourneys is Aegon talking about? At the end of the first season, we see an adult Aemond for the first time, and Cole says that the prince is ready for tournaments, which means that he had not participated in them before. Then Aemond says: "I don't give a shit about tourneys," + the war begins. Sooo...eh?

I swear, I had the exact same thought 😭 Aegon says Viserys withdrew him from tournaments, so he had to sit there and applaud "Aemond the champion", but in 1x08 Cole literally tells Aemond that he'll be winning tourneys "in no time", and Aemond explicitly says he doesn't give a shit about tourneys. And then the war starts almost immediately.

So… when exactly was Aemond apparently collecting tournament championships while Aegon was forced to sit there and applaud him?? What the fuck are they talking about 😭

it is a SHAME we were denied any close and comforting scenes between aegon and helaena the king and queen the riders of sunfyre and dreamfyre !!!!!! i swear you cannot make me believe that they did not find comfort in each other after what happened to their baby boy !!!!!! they may not be able to communicate their feelings BUT in no scene do we get any kinda hint that aegon abuses her or that helaena dislikes him during their marriage !!!!!! no, we get “the queen is in enduring mystery” and “don’t be afraid” and them loving their beautiful children and finding joy in their presence and those babies are the product of their maybe unusual and complicated but real and existing connection !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
