I can never thank enough all the people who give content to any fandom. The emotions I get every time I see a fanart, an edit, a fanfic, etc., I can't even describe. Often these things are the only light in my day. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Hehehe Wen Xichen and Lan Wanyin I made for xicheng sect swap week on Twitter 💜🩵 I also wrote sm with it~

For the sake of his sect and his family, Gusu Lan’s precious pearl has been betrothed to a madman. A man so cruel and ruthless, that his name itself inspires terror in those who hear it.
They say he likes precious things just to break them apart, after all, a son of the sun is meant to burn everything he touches.
They also say most gems come from the bowels of the Earth, made by pressure and heat over millions of years. But pearls come from patience, care and protection, they do not glow under destruction.
This was a tale meant to end in tragedy and sorrow, another example of the sun crushing others under their blaze.
It was not, however, anything like that. And this how their first meeting went~
UGH! HE'S SO DAMN PRECIOUS!

A (Nacho) tries to hide their blush from B (Lalo) by turning their head away, but the latter doesn’t let them. please :)
Nacho shouldn’t be here.
This was Lalo’s idea. And Nacho followed because Lalo was his boss. And by now he knew there was nothing he could possibly do to make Lalo change his mind once an idea had bloomed in his mind. And this is how Nacho entered a fancy clothes store, a step behind a far too eager Lalo.
“You need better stuff than this.” Lalo had declared about an half an hour ago when he stood in Nacho’s closet after taking a shower. He was trying to find a shirt that would fit him among Nacho’s clothes, and seemed impossibly disappointed in finding only black, red or midnight blue clothes.
Lalo had been staying a couple of nights in the last week, always pretending he only needed Nacho to drive him somewhere only to offer Nacho to cook for him since “It’s already so late, let me make it up to you, hm, Nachito?” And it had never been an actual question. Lalo had been turning around him since he did that little stunt over the roofs. The metaphorical circles he had been drawing around him grew closer and closer, until Lalo cornered him in his own kitchen the first night he managed to impose himself over.
They had been watching TV for about an hour, their bellies full of Lalo’s delicious food –and that’s when Nacho knew he would have a hard time refusing Lalo coming over the next time, because no matter how Nacho didn’t care about feeding himself well, good food was a great way to capture his interest once his guard was lowered enough– when Nacho was sent to get them more fresh beers. Nacho had just closed the fridge’s door, turning around to get them opened when he almost dropped the two bottles. Lalo had somehow sneaked behind him without making a single sound, which was creepy as hell. But as Nacho found himself caged against the counter, Lalo’s hands on each sides of him, standing so close, those oh so dark eyes fixated on him, Nacho couldn’t fight back the wave of heat that hit him.
It wasn’t much of an actual surprise to see Lalo finally act on his desire. Nacho had seen the way the man looked over at him, that being from El Mich’s kitchen, or from the table Lalo sat at in the restaurant, or even from the passenger or driver seat, depending on who was driving. And those looks, Nacho knew them all too well. It was the same ones people would throw his way in nightclubs.
Nacho had realized over the days that he didn’t mind Lalo’s said looks as much as he hoped he would. Not that it didn’t systematically made him feel horribly stupid for feeling his blood run hotter every single time. At some point, he couldn’t even tear his eyes right away from Lalo’s whenever it happened anymore. Lalo was a very attractive man, besides the fact that he was his superior and the very infuriating other fact that he was a Salamanca. But no matter how hard Nacho would try to tell himself not to act this stupid, he couldn’t stop the need forming in his guts.
So when Lalo cornered him, standing so close his cologne was the only thing Nacho could smell, half lidded eyes pinning him in place, Nacho had let Lalo take the bottles of Modelos from his hands. Lalo had leaned impossibly closer as he went to dispose of the bottles, and the moment the glass hit the counter with a delicate sound behind him, Nacho crossed the rest of the distance separating their lips from meeting.
Letting Lalo guide him back to the couch had been ridiculously easy, his own body far too eager to kiss back, to touch and be touched. Nothing really changed after that, and Nacho couldn’t be more thankful about it. This was the easiest way to deal with this situation. And the second time Lalo invited himself over to cook him something, Nacho didn’t even try to question it. He was eager even. But not stupid enough to make the first move. That would always be Lalo’s call. He refused to let the other man know he had any kind of power over him when it came to this.
“If you’ll be standing by my side that much now, I need you to look like you belong. So, flowers it is, Nachito!”
Nacho grimaced as he followed Lalo through the aisles, after the man had dismissed an employee coming to assist them. Of course Lalo would decide and review everything by himself, not trusting the opinion of anyone else. Nacho hoped he had, maybe this would have been over faster.
Lalo made a whole list of arguments as to why which fabric was better suited for their job, which would let the body breathe, which would stretch a bit better. Only to switch to the colors, patterns, and how to actually stood out without looking ridiculous. Which was rich coming from a guy who was wearing bright blue loafers if it wasn’t cowboy boots, and never doubted it would be a good match to wear those blue atrocities with a purple shirt. The fact that Lalo still managed to look good in them was no pertinent argument here tho.
And one thing leading to another, Nacho was now in a changing room, Lalo waiting outside and deciding which piece of clothing would fit Nacho better every time Nacho came out to show the man how the pieces fit him. At least he had stuck to Nacho’s color scheme, except for a couple of shirts, one white, the other sage green. Both with flowers patterns, as promised.
Lalo would stay sited and send Nacho back into the changing room whenever the piece wouldn’t satisfy him on first glance. But when it pleased him…
Lalo would get up from his seat, and come close, so close to Nacho. His hands gently turning him to face the huge mirror separating the rows of changing rooms. Fingers would adjust the collar, undo one more button –Nacho was glad he was trying any of these without his usual tank top underneath– or smooth the fabric over his arms or chest, while Lalo murmured comments about how the cuts should be adjusted to fit him perfectly. Every contact, every shift of cloth against his skin, was just as delicate as when he would turn him around to inspect him, sending shivers snaking around on his skin.
And Nacho almost lost himself in Lalo’s obvious little game of control now, until he caught the eyes looking at them in the distance. He was facing Lalo, who was busy with the buttons oh his sleeve, when he saw employees regularly sending looks their ways. And if there was nothing mean about them, it still hit Nacho in a way. That’s the exact moment his cheeks warmed up so much his skin actually darken with a blush. A quick glance at his own reflection let him know it was monstrously obvious. He was pretty sure he didn’t blush in years. It was mortifying.
And it only got worse once Lalo was done with his sleeve and his attention switched back to Nacho’s face. If anything, it made the blush worsen. Lalo smirked, his head tilting slightly to the side, a strand of gelled hair falling along his temple in a stupidly charming way.
“What’s with the sudden blushing?”
Amused. Lalo was awfully amused. As if he had been waiting for this to happen. Planning it, even. Nacho wouldn’t be surprised if it was the case. He could only despise the fact that it worked. The burn of the other people’s attention on them only seemed to grow in intensity, even if Nacho couldn’t check if anyone was actually still watching them. It was just how it felt. Excruciatingly exposed. And an obvious conclusion that made his blood run both awfully cold and hot and the same time.
“N-Nothing.”
Nacho could hold Lalo’s amused eyes anymore. He looked away, down, head tilting in the same direction, only for a couple of fingers to delicately meet his jaw. He was forced to look back up at Lalo by their care only. Nacho should resist all this with far much more fierceness, he knew. Yet, just like he let Lalo invite himself in his home, in his bed, he also let Lalo impose him to face his conflicted feelings. Feelings. Right. Fuck. Now he had feelings then.
Meeting the dark brown eyes was just as infuriating as he knew it would be. Lalo stood imperceptibly closer, his fingers still resting just under the line of his jaw, as he spoke again.
“Com’on, cariño. Tell me.”
And that was it. What could Nacho even do? He thought he was a though guy. He thought he had a pretty great control of his emotions by now. Yet here he was, blushing still. And that stupid stupid pet name Lalo had never ever used before right this instant…
“They think we’re a couple.”
One of Lalo’s eyebrow arched, only for the man to look over at the expanse of the shop, and Nacho still wouldn’t look that way again. Lalo laughed, and Ignacio gritted his teeth. Lalo’s eyes met his again. Lalo’s fingers slipped from his jaw to the curve of his neck, slipping under the collar of the black shirt covered in black flowers patterns. Nacho actually really liked this shirt.
“And what if they do? Would it be so wrong?”
Ignacio’s blush somehow got worse, extending all the way down his chest. Nacho hastily pulled away then, quickly making his way back behind the security of the curtain, which only made Lalo laugh some more.
Luckily this was the last piece of clothing Nacho had to try. So now they were at the checkout, a pile of new shirts for Nacho on the counter, a single white shirt with tiny blue flowers on it the only article that stood out in the mass of red, dark blue and black. Along with a pair of tight black jeans and a couple of fancy pants –for special occasions only, Lalo said– and a pair of classy shoes Nacho would never ever feel comfortable walking in but it did worked with the fancy pants much better than his leather boots. It all was expensive as hell, but money hasn’t been a problem for Nacho for a while now, he even had been doing everything but truly spending it.
Lalo, on his side, purchased two fancy shirts, both of a very nice quality. A yellow one with a dotting pattern Nacho found profoundly hideous –and the fact it suited Lalo was, again, maddening– and a dark blue one that absolutely worked on him like a magnet. Seeing Lalo trying it minutes ago had been down right electrifying. And when their eyes met in the mirror, Nacho’s blush made a come back with a vengeance.
“You should wear that black shirt with the huge flowers on it tomorrow. Red tank top.” Lalo said as he took his place beside Nacho, in the passenger seat of the Javelin. “I’ll be wearing that blue one I bought today. That will be a nice fit. That lawyer of yours won’t know how to handle so much elegance.”
Beyond the fact Nacho found it to be a terrible idea if he was supposed to stay focused on the important task tomorrow, he couldn’t wait for Lalo to see and understand in what exactly consisted Goodman’s tastes when it came to clothing.
